Polygamous Montana Man Applies For Marriage License To Second Wife, Says He Will Sue If Denied
I fully expected this, I just thought it would take a few months.
With the newest SCOTUS ruling that marriage is a "right" not to be denied anyone, than these things are going to happen.
I actually have no problem with polygamist marriages, so long as all parties are informed. If a guy can deal with 3 or 6 wives at once, more power to him. My only confusion on polygamy is this, why is it okay for a man to have 3 wives, but wrong for a woman to have 3 husbands?
Of course it will only get stranger from here. Sooner or later someone is going to claim they are being discriminated against because they want to marry their adult sibling.

I think the law will take precedence over this.
I doubt he will get a "second" wife.
Love,
Liz

I agree, I don't have a problem with polygamy... if they're dumb enough to get married in the first place... whatever...
It does amuse me that most polygamist are religious extremists/nuts, when the bible is so plainly against polygamy... you know, that deal about man not being able to serve two masters...

You don't understand the scriptural quote you are referencing but that is ok.
I don't care who marries who, really, though I would prefer government to be out of the "marriage" business altogether and just issue civil union licenses. That said, no argument can be made against polygamy since gay marriage was passed. The exact same arguments apply to both.

It was a joke... sigh...
I was raised in a bible-thumping spare-the-rod read-the-bible-daily flagellate-occasionally pick-up-this-snake drink-this-poison semi-pseudo cult... I understand the bible more than I care to admit... I haven't picked one up in over thirty years, and don't intend to. To each his own, just don't get in my face with your whacky beliefs, and I won't yours with mine.

Sorry... didn't mean for that to sound so intense... it's a knee-jerk thing....

No worries, as you know a lot of people have no idea what the Bible says or means and just pick scripture out at random.

Actually, the Bible specifically condones polygamy. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- the three major patriarchs -- all had multiple wives, and King Solomon had "700 wives and 300 concubines" (1 Kings 11:3).
He must have been a busy guy...

You quoted me about something I didn't say? Ok.

I'm lost...
