It was such a Gong Show at the plant this past week that I thought Chuck Barris was going to jump out at any moment. At one point I had 4 people in front of me demanding my attention, critical info being passed over the radio and the effin' boss calling on the phone asking me to measure something.
We average 150-160 people on site during the day on weekdays. Monday-Wednesday we had about 240 people working on a couple of large projects (power pole replacements, electrical sub-station commissioning) and production unit maintenance shutdown.
As confusing as it seemed to be, it is quite amazing that things were getting done. The power pole work and the sub-station commissioning should be done today. The maintenance work is 4 or 5 days behind schedule due to upper management not listening to the operators who said that it would take 14 days to do something. Despite the warning about 14 days, they scheduled 10 for the work. And THEN, something went sideways adding a day.
