I just got my mother a purple sweater for Christmas.  She’s always loved that color too.

I bet she doesn't have a heart shaped beard, though!

Well no.  But coincidentally I was recently tempted to ask the gf if I could shave some hair on her into the shape of a heart.  I did ask if she ever shaved, and she said sometimes the edges just for wearing a bikini.

Absolutely gorgeous. No wind, kinda warm. We went to the park and let the dog and the cat out to play. It was almost spring like.

I don’t get not dressing for the weather?

I walk from my car to stores (and back) in that kind of weather in shorts and a polo shirt, while most everyone else is wearing long pants and what look to be parkas. I can handle the 30 second walk outside. Now, if my car broke down, I have have a fleece pullover, along with a jacket and jeans just in case.

For me, I look at everyone else and wonder why they feel it is necessary to bundle up for that short walk...

 :o

Mark is the same as you.  He never wears a coat.  One of his Xmas gifts from me was a winter survival kit for the back of his car in case of a breakdown. "but I have AAA & a cellphone", he says.   Boots, a heavy sweater, winter gloves, hand warmers, water, energy bars, full head mask that only eyes and mouth show through, and a pink/white scarf that I no longer use because of snags.

Don't get me wrong, when I go for my daily extended walks, If it is cool, I will either dress warmer or carry something warmer in case I need it. Though, as a funny aside, one day I was walking, wearing my usual shorts and polo (with my fleece tied around my waist for the unlikely possibility that I might actually need it) on a fairly chilly day. I was also drinking my Ice Blended Mocha drink, and as I was approaching an elderly couple, the woman looked at me and made some comment to me. I forget exactly what she said, but it was something like, "Now, that's aggressively ignoring reality..."

I had to laugh.

LOL.....It's pouring rain right now.
It's also 45 degrees here.
On the question of coats..??
I don't wear one in the barn, and very rarely between barns.
The barns are heated to 48 degrees (which almost never kicks on) and horses themselves generate a lot of heat.
So it's easy to just wear jeans and a flannel shirt.
And Boots, don't forget the boots.....I've been stepped on more than a few times.

Love,
Liz

We've been having rains and freezing nights.  My windshield has been iced over the last several nights.

We reached 47 mph winds yesterday and this morning, on our walk, it was in the 20s with a cold wind coming from the north. Least no snow.

Least no snow.

Don't mention that word.  You're going to jinx our good luck so far.

Windy here and trying to snow as well.
But no significant amounts are falling.

Ugh...
Well at least we don't have 30 mph winds like we did yesterday.
The weekend is not much better.  It will be windier with a teens windchill factor.
Inside when ever I can for the next 72 hours.
Still no...(I won't say the word).   So Detroit area has that going for you.  I know some have gotten quite a few inches.  Glad I'm not in their shoes.

Snow in DC, surrounding area, starting Saturday, through Sunday.

Good thing the Government is CLOSED... and they, they pretty much close every Saturday and Sunday here, the vast majority of 'em, anyway.

Govt. Employees, for all the 'hollering' by the Media, will miss a paycheck for the very first time ever due to a shutdown... yawn, grocery stores are running out of bread, milk, beer, Velveeta, pancake mix, as I type this... essentials...

Good Saturday and Sunday to watch NFL Playoff games, and stay inside.

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

Thanks for the reminder.  I was going to go get bread today, and that would have been a waste of time.

Any peep about any snow around here causes an insane run on the grocery stores.  In particular, bread, milk and toilet paper vanish.  People behave as if it will be weeks before they can shop again.  In the meantime, the snow will melt in a couple days, and those people will be asking each other if it’s OK to freeze the 5 gallons of extra milk they inexplicably have.

Apparently we're about to get our asses kicked with snow.

Started snowing here at 8 am.  They said most of the snow will be south of I-80. Maybe they will be right for once. But temps to be in 40s by early next week so snow should all melt.

Sunny, and bright, cool, but fairly dry.  More fall-like than wintery, it's nice.

Just a few?  Don't sell yourself short.
