If I don't put a drop of gasoline in the snowblower this winter, that would suit my just fine.  8) 8)

Howling winds and dropping temperatures during the night, but no snow. Forecasting 60s by midweek.  8)

50s and rain mid week I think they're saying. Should make things interesting when it all freezes again.

No outside time for the dogs today. They'll go potty, but then it's right back inside.

Yep...foot of snow on sidewalk. Thankfully neighbor did my front walks. I got the snow blower fired up and did back walk. The big driveway got cleared last night...again by sweet neighbor. There was about 4 inches that fell after she'd cleared the heavy stuff. Lots of accidents all over. Adding a photo of one multi vehicle pile up on the freeway 60 miles south of us. The  joys of Minnesota living.

We're expecting temps in the 50s Wednesday along with drizzle. Then temps drop. Our snow will turn to rock solid ice and streets will become skating rinks. Tow trucks and body shops jumping for joy.

We were on the tail end of that front that spawned so many tornadoes in Tennessee and Kentucky this week. So it blew a dozen shingles off my roof. I sent my landlord photos of it, and said “How about that new roof you’ve been promising me for a year?“ She has already collected a $6000 check from the insurance company. Of course she said “I’ll have to ask my mother.“ Sorry, but surrogate daughters make horrible landlords.

La Niña is going to dump a ton of water this winter. I hope she wants water stains on her ceilings, because that’s what she’s going to get.

Middle of  December, should be in the 20s or lower. Nope...50s for high today. This morning I was driving through a park and steam was rising from the snow on the ground. If I've ever seen anything like that before, I don't remember it. Then tomorrow dropping to 24 for a high...30 degree change.

Oh I forgot tornado watch today. :o

It was 59° and foggy as all get out. Dozens of accidents as people couldn't see where they were going sometimes the fog was so thick, visibility was less that 100 yards. It was friggin crazy.

Starting later tonight, were going to be windy. 35 mph winds with gusts getting up to 50 mph.

I know what you mean MsSlave, im south of you and it was 70 today.  Around 8:00 had a squall line blow through like a frieght train, probably some torandos in the surrounding area..  9:30 now and its still 60 degrees and the wind is blowing like a bastard.  Phone says tomorrow is supposed to in the 30s.  Haven't had a temperature swing like this in my life.  But it's better than the snow dump you guys got in the land of lakes (and snow).  Keep warm and safe up there

Huge storm rolled through last night, and today we've got wind that'll move mountains. I went running this morning, and it literally almost pushed me over. I cut that run short pretty quick. Turned and had to run into it, and I swear it would have been easier running under water.  It is pretty warm though all things considered and I dont see any snow on the ground. All the rain made it melt.

As for Msslave's comment. This might be better for the astronomy thread, but every year the sun burns just a bit hotter. I can't remember how much hotter, but a percentage of a degree might not seem much, but on a cosmic scale it has quite the impact. Not saying that pollutants aren't helping things along, but global warming is an inevitability. It's just happening quicker.

Wild night yesterday. A first ever December tornado touched down some where out in the hinterlands. Wind, rain and thunderstorm kept things interesting.

This morning still windy with icy spots on the roads from the rain freezing. A 30 degree drop in temperature added to the drama.

Worst news. I had to cancel planned cheese run to Wisconsin.
I could have done with a healthy injection. ;D

A white Christmas in Minneapolis? Well kinda. Sort of a splotchy white Christmas. A few weeks ago we got a foot of snow. That was followed by above freezing temps including one day in the 50s! Following the big thaw we did get a couple inches that covered the ground. Now much of that is gone, leaving some open ground with patches of white snow.

So, if you narrow your vision and only look at a certain area then, YES! It's a white Christmas. :D

Merry Christmas!

Makes me miss the person, after whom the thread is named after.
She’d have liked your humorous comment.
Let’s just hope that it’s only a Christmas break.

It stayed above 60 for our Christmas here.
