When I went to University I had both right-wing leaning professors and left-leaning ones, but most did not seem to have any political orientation at all.

I never knew the political leanings of any of my professors across 3 college degrees and despite me telling my rightwing uncle that numerous times, he still repeats that I and my older uncle who went to college were brainwashed by liberal professors.  According to him, we lost the ability to think for ourselves the moment we went to college.  I think Sean Hannity told him that, talk about a skull scrubbing.

I wonder if this is a reason to deny a demonstration permit?

Proud Boys Leader Admits Their Rallies Are For Fighting And Wasting Money
The group brawls with antifa under the guise of free speech. But video exposes its true intentions: violence and wasting public resources.

By Andy Campbell

The Proud Boys for years have helped organize street fights in Portland, Oregon ― gatherings thinly veiled as political freedom rallies in order to secure permits or police escorts from the city.

This week, that veil was lifted, as the group’s leader admitted the ugly and obvious truth: The events are staged with the intention of spurring fights, wasting city resources and winning a game of optics against their anti-fascist nemeses.

“We’ve wasted all their fucking resources to make this rally,” Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio said in video captured during the latest extremist rally held Saturday in Portland. “We want them to waste $2 million and we’ll do it again in two months.”

Tarrio and fellow Proud Boys leader Joe Biggs flew to Portland from Florida to host the rally, and fears among city officials about the potential chaos caused them to warn local businesses to close for the day. Meanwhile, a multi-jurisdictional police force of 700 was deployed, according to The Oregonian.

The closures cost local restaurants and other businesses an estimated $3 million in revenue, and taxpayers will likely be on the hook for millions more due to the police response, the paper reported.

This is a pure optics operation. If you’re looking for your fourth degree [rank for assaulting someone], this is not the event to do it.”
Enrique Tarrio, Proud Boys leader

Fewer violent clashes broke out than in previous iterations of the rally, in part because police spent the day escorting and defending the Proud Boys and members of their local punch-happy cousin, the Patriot Prayer. But the Proud Boys were also keenly aware that the nation was watching ― President Donald Trump tweeted just before the rally began that he would be on the lookout for violence committed by anti-fascists in order to designate “ANTIFA an ORGANIZATION OF TERROR.”

As the rally kicked off, Tarrio was caught on video ordering his gang members to forgo the fighting. On this day, nobody would be earning their “fourth degree” ― a rank given to those Proud Boys who assault anti-fascists.

“This is a pure optics operation,” Tarrio said in front of a group of Proud Boys. “If you’re looking for fourth degrees this is not the event to do it.”

Simply deny a Demonstration Permit, and enforce it, for Antifa, for every Demonstration, knowing when Antifa is allowed to be there, fighting is there.

I wonder if this is a reason to deny a demonstration permit?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble..."

Funny how when fucking Nazis march armed down the streets, there's a Riot, but you blame the people who show up to peacably protest them.

Almost as if you're not against Nazis, but those who oppose them.

The Right Of The People To Peacefully Assemble...

What about that is not clear?

When thugs make it their business to attack legally demonstrating groups of 'the people', those bent on attacking need to be addressed, removed, prevented from their illegal goal of assaulting such peacefully assembled people.

One group stands proudly FOR assaulting the legally assembled, has a history of being uncivil, dresses in fortified clothing, bring their own Gas Masks, beat fellow citizens and residents with metal Bike Locks, and similar weapons, bats and the like, and are 'politically protected' all too often as they attempt to prevent "peaceful assembly" by others with whom they choose to disagree.

Were Nazi's involved in the Portland, OR recent issues?

No matter who it may be, peaceful demonstrations may occur. Opposition forces are not welcome to create mayhem in public places, for any reason.

No matter the 'repulsive' group who 'peacefully assembles', they have rights,
and State and Local Authorities are bound to take measures to insist these rights are honored, by everyone, under penalty of law, whatever it takes.

demonstrating groups of 'the people',

Antifa are one of the groups of "The People," but the quote was about you saying that ALL permits be denied, by the state, which would be against the First Amendment.  For anyone, including Anti-fa.

Nor shall they be blamed for the mayhem that ensues.  You assume that every time Antifa is involved, riots will occur, and Antifa is responsible for the violence, because you're blinded by hate.  Either the rights apply to Antifa, or they're not rights, they are privileges.

Just to be clear, you support Nazis, and are against Antifa (Who opposed them.)  The whole reason why you're still on this kick, is because Charlottesville, because they opposed Nazis, and ill douchey told you there were nice people on both sides (But not Antifa)  If you count every crime that you believed they were ever responsible for, then you have to include that time you supported Nazis against them.

The white nationalist Proud Boys have admitted their ojective in having their demonstrations is to cause a brawl and waste tax money.  Therefore, a peaceful gathering is clearly not their intention.

I hope the city of Portland sues the group out of existence.

Actually, what I read from your post regarding Proud Boys is their intention to bankrupt Antifa, not to fight them in the street. They mentioned Antifa's cost to assemble their 'counter' people was about 2 Million for this one demonstration.

I was unaware the two groups were so competitive, but breaking the other's ability financially seemed a sophisticated way of thinking, when it comes to breaking an opponent's ability to be a problem.

Too bad Portland, OR hamstring the Police, or have in the past, from whattic I have read in articles. Imagine what is costs the citizens of Portland, OR to field a 700 plus Officer group, much on Overtime I expect, every time these two nogoodnics decide to brawl, and waste taxpayer dollars.

am not a fan of any of the problem groups, anyone seeking to fight each other in the streets, including all the usual suspects. The citizens who care about their city, their property, and their taxes, deserve better, whether in Portland, or Charlottesville.

Then why are you sticking up for them?  Are you fascist, or anti-fascist?

Funny how you're still fighting almost 2 months later, and you brought this up out of nowhere after it got buried.

They're your white pride boys.  You benefit from their violence.

Sure you do.  You and Lyin’ Donald get your taking points the same place, Fox.  I suppose you’re not quite as bad as Crooked Donald in that you don’t have access to the best intelligence in the entire world but can’t be bothered to read the briefings or listen to them, and still get your ‘intelligence’ from Fox.

Although poor Donny isn’t as enamored with Fox as he was.  Even Fox can’t fudge the numbers in a way that shows him winning in 2020.

Just because someone disagrees with you beloved Antifa terrorist doesn’t mean they are racist, a nazi or anything else. Are all of you on the left that narrow minded?

Well, we're not attracting any more perverts.  Might as well let in people who call Antifa "Terrorists," and gloss over the fact that Nazis and the Klan are kinda Racist.

Incidentally, it's not "Everyone who doesn't agree with..."  It's Nazis, and the fucking Klan.  If you defend them, you're at least complicit in systematic Racism.

You know, when the Schwatica, the Rebel Flag, the Stars and Stripes, and the Gadsen flag all march together, it makes it really hard to tell you guys apart?

Don't hang out with, and defend Nazis, and Klansmen, if you don't like being mistaken for a racist.

The Stars and Stripes stand for racism??? Really...you don’t actually believe that trash do you? There are people out there that are racist, I agree, but our flag does not stand for racism. It stands for the free people (people of all races and religions and ideas) of the United States. That’s all of us who live here. Those who come here legally. The flag is just fabric on a rope without the people it stands for. You left like to make up meanings and words to describe shit you know nothing about. I’m proud to be a white Christian straight male (if that triggers you and you need your safe place then you need to grow up). In no way does that mean I’m racist.
