Well, I now have a secondhand MacBook Pro and I can't say I'm thrilled. It's slower than anything I had before (HP Pavillion). Could be the fact that's it's secondhand of course but I've worked on a Mac desktop too a few years ago, and had the exact same experience.
My husband has a desktop and a mouse, but I can't turn it on during the day or the kids might wreck it, so my lappy is high up on the closet.
A good oldfashioned desktop and a mouse still has my preference AT ALL TIMES. When something croaks my husband just takes it apart and we only have to replace the broken stuff. No bloody weeks waiting for crappy service 'under warranty'. Our very first desktop croaked and my husband had an inkling it was the mainboard. Now of course they don't really want to replace that because it's quite an expensive part. After a 3 weeks wait we get the puter back 'fixed', get home, try it out...still doesn't work. Husband takes it apart. You know what they did? Not replace the mainboard, but replace the new PSU with an old one! The second time they had just put the original PSU in and the third time my husband showed his 'don't fuck with me'-face which scared the serviceguy so hard that he went to get the manager and we finally got what we needed in less than 5 minutes.
We even threw out all the cordless stuff again because it just does not work as well, nor lasts as long, nor is it healthy.
Same goes for cars. My brother used to have an old VW Golf, never had to go to the shop, replaced everything himself. I absolutely hate all those new automatic gimmicks on a car. Can't even open a window nowadays if the battery is empty.
It's all greedy business and consumerism, masked with 'oh hey, this is so much easier for you'. I now have friends who can't even find my house without a gps. Each time they call "what was your address again?".
Technology also makes us lazy and dependent. For every upside, there is a downside.

Babelfish isn't a good translator, ESPECIALLY for Deutsch. I use the Collins translator 'cos it gives a more reasonable result for Deutsch. For every-day usage, the Google translator is pretty good and is more accurate than Babelfish, although it seems to censor the bad words a lot.
Babelfish is PARTICULARLY bad on the German compound words. It gets the meaning hilariously wrong.

You must have left the settings on family and not disabled them. Google translates ficken just fine for me. It also translates Scheiße accurately as well.

Well, I must say, I've personally never used Bablefish LOL, just mentioned it because it seems it's what the peeps on here use. Google is not bad but still too inaccurate for me. I use Interglot, it's accurate but still a bit limited for a lingowhore like me. That Collins does look good too, thanks. I used to have Euroglot at work which was fabulous, lots of expressions included with every word. Now that was an online translating tool that was a worthy replacement of dictionaries. Full of cross-references as well, but of course...you have to pay for it.

Our posts were simultaneous, so I didn't see yours before I posted mine.
I find it frustrating as someone who's new to the sport. If you turn on a game in the evening on Fox Soccer or Fox Soccer Plus, there's no way to tell the team name by the jerseys.
And I don't know about "slimy," but the adverts in soccer are far more aggressive and omnipresent than in any of the major American sports. They're on the jerseys, on the walls surrounding the pitch, projected holographically around the pitch, etc.
Granted, soccer has one major disadvantage over the major American sports: there's no stoppage of play during the halves, so there's no time for commercials. I suppose they have to make their money somehow or other.
P.S. Yes, I was showing off using words like "advert" and "pitch"...

Just hit me up prior to games and I can give you a good idea of colors for the game. One nice thing that Fox does a lot is that the score in the corner, the team names will be colored to the jersey color also. It helps when turning on the game after it is already playing.

I wouldn't use any of the expressions above as they are a mostly a literal translation of words 'fuck you', which will sound totally ridiculous in many languages as they use different expressions to convey the sentiment of 'fuck you!'.

Resourceful students figured out that you could fold the paper in a manner where only FU was displayed. There were a great many of them displayed in dorm windows. I like Pinots, Malbecs, and Shirazs. All considered "Medium" on the sweetness scale.

Just right click “open image” repeatedly, until you get one that begins with “i.imgur” and ends with “jpg” or “gifv.” You’ll need to delete that extra “v” off gif images. Ask me if you need help.

Reminds me of the time I was standing in line at a cafeteria and the guy in front of me was a Buddhist monk in orange robes. Burmese, maybe, or Thai. He took his time examining the items on display and eventually pointed to a ham sandwich. I'm still trying to get my head around that one.

Don't ask me why but "Direct Link" works for me and "Link" doesn't.
Postimages.org tries to direct traffic back to their website. I assume for hit count purposes and advertising revenue. Mods spend a lot of time deleting dead links to that site.

I dont really know. VI and Caitlyn are the obvious choices. Better together than on their own, but Jynx has qualities that make me love her and put me on her side either out of sympathy or agreement. Jayce is sexy AF but he's too easily manipulated.

The thing about this show is it gives me the "empowerment" feeling so easily unlike a lot of these mainstream movies where it seems too forced.
