Get a BB gun

Overcast night sky, I could barely see the pool slide.

And no shooting of animals, unless it's with a camera.  Right Ms?

For me yes. No season to wait for. I can shoot critters all year long. :D

Owls, while not endangered, are protected.

Bonus Jules...The mouse population in your area is being reduced.

It's really nice not having to get up for work every day.   You know, so you can sleep whenever you'd like.

Except when you can't sleep.   I woke at 4am and have been reading my kindle.  Just migrated out to the family room.

Waiting for our oldest to come home.  Was supposed to be here by 2:00. It's 2:36 right now.

Update:  she's home.  Bed time for me.

Well for the first time in many years, I saw the New Year arrive at Midnight.

Stay awake you say...nay.  I was sound asleep, cat curled up by my feet in the corner of the bed when....
BLAM....BLAM....BLAM!!!!

Frack'n people on the next street were setting off fireworks.  First what sounded like gun fire on first waking to the noise.  Cat jumped off the bed and huddled in the hall.  Heard more noise from the other side of the house so I got up.
Neighbors across the street were out yelling and blowing horns...kids were still up too.  Hell...no doubt the whole neighborhood was now awake.

So here I sit, nearly two hours later and can't get back to sleep.

We're early risers, usually by 5:30 AM at the latest.  Think I'll go over across the street, bang on their door and wish 'em a Happy New Year.

Jules, glad the kid made it home safe.  Sweet dreams.

Fell asleep midnightish... neighbors start shooting off fireworks around 1:45 a.m.  They’ve stopped now, but fuck.  My mind is racing and it’s going to be a long night.

We fell asleep at 8 but woke around 10.  We finally gave up at 11:30 and turned the TV on.  First we watched Piranha 3D (w/o the 3D), which was only redeeming for the jiggle.  And I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my favorite porn stars Ashlynn Brooke had a bit part in it.

Then we watched Zombie Honeymoon, a terrible movie about newlyweds where he eats people and she codependently enables it.

That was followed by Al Pacino in Scarface.  We watched that til the very end.  Once it was over I pushed the covers down past my waist and delivered Pacino’s iconic line to my Peruvian, ‘Say hello to my little friend.’

My Peruvian just got one of those.  I’ll ask her how she slept with the data to show.

With the holidays and fostering, we’ve got four adults and two kids in the house right now, and we are a couple of beds short, so dad is sleeping in his favorite chair downstairs, which ordinarily would not be a problem, but every time someone comes downstairs to smoke a cigarette, get a glass of water, make a snack, use the guest toilet, etc., I get awakened.  So I’m grumpy.

Going to be a long night. I have about 10 probate pleadings I have to have finished for a client, and I can’t go to bed until those are done. Then I’ll have to email them around for signatures. I can’t decide if I want to drink coffee to stay awake. If I do, I’ll be up all night. On the other hand, I’m sort of follow sleep right now.

I got up at 4 a.m. and drove 600 miles today.  But I took four Vivarin and two Starbucks Triple Shots to get home.  About 800 mg of caffeine.

I only post here on occasion.  I try to get back to sleep.  Opening up my laptop is a sure way to not get back to sleep.   I always try for half an hour before I reach for the laptop.

I haven't been sleeping much. For once, it's none of the kids keeping me up.

Recently been having really bad hunger pains in the middle of the night for some reason. I guess that "heart healthy" diet I'm forced to be on isn't all it's cracked up to be.

End of a 3 day weekend, so had lots of trouble sleeping.  We watched the Hispanic version of Judge Judy until it ended at 2AM.  It was a custody battle.  The husband said he couldn’t take it anymore that his wife sang everything, never just talked.  The woman was in the courtroom singing all of her replies to the judge, who was rather incredulous this was really happening and began mocking her by singing back.  They brought the couple’s boy out and the judge asked him who he wanted to be with, and he replied his father.  Asked why, he replied, ‘Momma es loca.’

It was hysterical every time the woman sang her responses.  I tried to figure out if it was fake, but they brought out psychiatrists who said the woman needed therapy.  As sad as that was, my Peruvian and I couldn’t stop laughing.  Even after it was over and we turned out the light, we were singing good night to each other and laughing so hard.  We would stop, and it got quiet, then one of us would sing something again and the laughter would resume.

It’s hard to sleep when you can’t stop laughing.  Meanwhile I’m at work drinking lots of coffee, and my Peruvian has the day off.  I’m sure she’s still sleeping.
