I stood at my window with a hot cup of coffee, thick socks, clothes and a blanket draped over my shoulders and watched as my landlord plowed the parking lot and the shoveled the walkways. I don't even own a snow shovel  8)

I wouldn't list this as Made My Day, but no where else to put it.

A little over a week ago, the kids mom (Dan's ex) informed them that she was going to have to get a hotel room for the weekend because of some work going on in her house.  I suggested she just come stay with us.  The girls were happy.  Dan was not happy.  But I just didn't think it was right that she's in a cramped little hotel room while we've got room at our place for her.  So she came and stayed with us.  And we all had fun together with games, karaoke, puzzles, cards, movies.  Dan suffered through it.

Well, yesterday she found out that she needs to vacate the house for a week.  When Dan heard, he looked at me and said, "NO!"

And he had no sooner said that when I looked at the girls and told them to invite their mother to stay with us.

I have two daughters extremely happy with me. 
I have a husband that is not very happy with me. 
Hmmm, how to make it up to him?!

What made my day (tomorrow)...
7:08am tomorrow morning I'll be sitting under a Tiki hut in my shorts and flipflops, with my coffee and iPad, while watching the sun rise out of the Atlantic.  Temp in Detroit at the same time tomorrow is forecast to be 14 degrees.
I found tickets to Florida for $115 round trip per person the other day.  Dan and I are flying later this afternoon.  We'll be back in the afternoon on Monday.   Would have stayed longer but I have to attend a work meeting on Wednesday next week to sign some papers.

A Snowy Owl was sighted today in the Central Park Forest. The first such sighting since 1890.

I suspect that flora and fauna are enjoying the pandemic.  Dolphins have been seen in the canals of Venice also.

A Snowy in Texas. Boy is that bird off course. An Arctic bird, they do sometimes make it down to Minnesota when Arctic winters are bad and hunting poor up there.

BTW, looks like a female. Males have a lot less black.

Of course it's a female, she landed and is trying to get her bearings, figure out where she is, perhaps ask a local bird where she is.  A Male would just be floating around in circles aimlessly telling itself, "I know where I'm at."   :emot_laughing:

Indeed it could. When I went out for a run this morning around 6:30 am, it was 15 degrees with a very strong wind, making it feel like it was 10 below. While I know this doesn't compare with Minneapolis or Green Bay, it was very frigid.

I hope that owl hung on for dear life!

It's well deserved: I'm in the High Risk group for a double-handful of reasons, plus I've spent over half of my spare time and a quarter of work time this last year trying valiantly to keep 600+ people alive, whether they want my help or not!  I knew quite a bit about infection control and continued learning and improving our game as time went on. 

We've had >50 positives in 11 months, and only one probable community-transmission case; everyone else got it outside work.

Yes, she's at the house with the three girls. Feel more comfortable with her there than the other two watching the little one.

Too cloudy for a sunrise today.  Cloudless skies the last two days. 

It's cold down here.  Water has been choppy.  Captain Dan has been very cautious about taking the boat out in these waters.  It's been wavy on both the Gulf side and Atlantic side of the Keys.
