Watching my younger son run the London marathon. This is his third marathon (2 London, 1 Boston) but the first I have been able to attend.  He was 7 minutes slower this time but a very creditable 3 hours and 1 minute (especially for a 40 year old). NY next month.

I seem to have spawned 3 marathon runners in total, don't think they get their energy from me.

Congrats to you're son. I enjoy my morning jogs, but would never think about going marathon distances.

In the exam room this morning, getting my annual body check for skin cancer, in walks a young lady doctor, whom I had never seen in the department before. Me having only on my underwear, as she neared my back side, she asked me if she can take a look at my butt.  Happily, I said sure. Never was asked that question by anyone before.  8) 8)

Neighbor called me this morning and asked if I wanted to go to the dog park with her. Haven't been to a dod park since I lost the two Bassets a couple different neighbors had.

I get to see the two neighbor dogs all the time but only through the fence. One is a runner and could easily get out. Fun playing with them and watching them play with other dogs.

My friend who broke his hip last weekend is doing better. He's gotten his head in a better place and is cooperating with his treatment. Has had some physical therapy, but not sure if they've got him on his feet yet or not.

He and his wife started talking with social services about finding a rehab facility. Probably be there four weeks. Be so nice to get him back home.

Daughter called a little while ago. They had quite a bash last night. There were 15 people and one dog. The pup was life of the party getting pets from everyone.

The party was outside around a bonfire with lots of food. Several of the relatives had made it to Minnesota 12 years ago, so there was lots of reminiscing about that.

As for us folks, if we still feel up to it, we'll be going to a local steak house. Old people sometimes just say nah, and go to bed early. :emot_laughing:

Well, we are now 6 days away from going back to La Paz. We have 3 pieces of furniture and a mattress to dispose of and a few tubs of stuff to store at Mrs JBRG's niece's place. 17 October cannot get here soon enough. And, we have residency so we don't have to leave Mexico after 180 days. The needle is bouncing off the rev limiter right now.

Thank you. As the doctor told me, most of the skin issues started way back when I was a teen.

Mine told me the same thing.  My parents were dumb when it came to sun protection.  They both tanned easily.  My sister's father was from Greece, she had a year round dark complexion.  I was always burning in the sun.  My whole family was dark.  Maybe that should have been a clue to my mothers secret.
