I spent the terror of y2k in Poland.  New Years we were all joking about everything collapsing.  About the only thing that happened was a 104 year old granny got an invite to join kindergarten for next year.

Just talking with someone Saturday. She retired last spring. Somebody asked what she did.

She been a Cobal programer for over twenty years. Said she was on duty all night... just in case. All alone in a large room. Thought about doing cartwheels down the aisles.

I remember being with friends to watch the New Year come in. TV was on and broadcasters were scrambling to fill time.

Very smart observation.  I’m thirty years your senior.  So I would be 89 when you are my age, and the likelihood of me still being alive are slim and none.  We are ALL going to die at some point.  And as you age, the pace of passing time only accelerates.  That was the point of my meme.  20 years ago still seems like 1980, but it is 2000, which seems like yesterday.
