Title: Painting.
Post by: Ktinch on January 09, 2019, 07:47:27 PM
Hello everyone. A little about me. I am a 50 year old gender disphoria male. I've know since my preteen years that I truely should have been born female.

So, the reason for my post. While at a Doctors appointment, I noticed a painting hanging in the waiting room. I'm attaching a picture of it. Is it just me or does the nurse in the pink dress look like a boy?

She does.  The fun stories we could imagine there.

Welcome to the club.  Nice to have someone else with Gender Disphoria around to talk to.

While I know nothing about the painting or the artist, I'm pretty sure it's a tomboyish girl with short hair. The painting otherwise seems to strictly adhere to gender stereotypes: Boys are doctors and helicopter pilots, and girls are nurses). In fact, when I was around her age, I looked a lot like her: short, skinny, with a Peter Pan haircut.

But in the context of gender dysphoria/gender incongruence, your observation makes perfect sense. Perhaps that person is a biological boy, dressing up in girl's clothes and performing a seemingly female task. Perhaps, even at a young age, he is able to explore and try to understand his gender dysphoria, in a way that many gender dysphoric males never had the chance to do.

Great post, thanks for contributing!
