Early Saturday morning hitting the road and heading west for a week.  Depending on Wi Fi at the motel I might be able to post a couple times...not too good with the phone on line tho'.

We're going out west to where the Buffalo (Bison) roam.

Also, there will be deer,

and Antelope.

Whether they're be playing, remains to be seen.
Ah yes, "Home On The Range" in the Badlands and Black Hills of South Dakota.  About a 600 mile trip and lots of driving to sites of interest while there.

Who knows...if there's time, might get.............

A little "ass". (Burro)

Pictures are from our last trip in 2002.  This trip about 25 of us from our Photo Club are going.  Some of the members go there a lot for wildlife pictures and will hopefully show us some good spots off the beaten path.

I'll be thinking of all you while gone and will let you know when I'm back, safe and sound.

I'm told by a friend to be on the lookout for American Dippers.  They dive underwater for their food.

Thanks for all the comments and good wishes.  Be hitting the road in just a couple hours now.  Car all packed and gassed up.  Going to be a rainy drive, but weather looks good for while we're there.  Lots of SD cards for tons of pictures.

Hope I can peek in on my phone once in awhile to stay connected.  Maybe be too hot with some of the action that goes on over on Kat's blog.  Could need a new phone. ;D

Have a great trip!  If you have a chance to get really close to a buffalo, do so. They are massive beasts.

When they start looking at you like this...YOU'RE TOO CLOSE.  OK, 300 mm zoom lens.

My BF tells a story of motorcycling through the black hills of South Dakota when he ran into a herd of Buffalo crossing the road.  He was not sure what to do.  Turn around and possibly provoke an attack?  He chose to stay perfectly still until the Buffalo moved on.  The big bull watching hm snorted and pawed the ground until his girls finished crossing the road and then he tossed his head and trotted off after his girls.  I suspect it was a very close call.
