Yea, you'd think they'd be able to identify the correct word that every first year high school German student winkels out in the first part of the course.Nit just goes to show you that N Child Left Behind is leaving a helluva lot of people behind.

Babelfish isn't a good translator, ESPECIALLY for Deutsch.  I use the Collins translator 'cos it gives a more reasonable result for Deutsch.  For every-day usage, the Google translator is pretty good and is more accurate than Babelfish, although it seems to censor the bad words a lot.

Babelfish is PARTICULARLY bad on the German compound words.  It gets the meaning hilariously wrong.

BTW, I have the Collins German-English / English-German dictionary here, as well as an older one from Deutschland (don't remember who did that older one).

You must have left the settings on family and not disabled them. Google translates ficken just fine for me. It also translates Scheiße accurately as well.

So, rope, fuck you until you get your software settings right.

Well, I must say, I've personally never used Bablefish LOL, just mentioned it because it seems it's what the peeps on here use. Google is not bad but still too inaccurate for me. I use Interglot, it's accurate but still a bit limited for a lingowhore like me. That Collins does look good too, thanks. I used to have Euroglot at work which was fabulous, lots of expressions included with every word. Now that was an online translating tool that was a worthy replacement of dictionaries. Full of cross-references as well, but of course...you have to pay for it.
