Currently drinking some iced green tea I just made. Very good stuff. Haven't had any in a long time. Now that the temp. is finally going upwards it'll be nice to start consuming again.

I think I bashed a friend earlier this month on here, for bringing a bottle of Van Winkle to my house for the Derby, but then taking home the remainder of the unfinished bottle at the end of the night.   Never knew it was so expensive.   Don't blame him now.

I paid close to $1,000 for that bottle.  It was for a jerky boss that I am happy I no longer work with.  Possibly the worst career investment I ever made.

Van Winkle (any of them) are darn good but the hype has out priced their taste for me.  I know a liquor store owner who told me that years ago, he couldn't give Pappy away because nobody ever heard of it.  Then a couple of TV shows, most notably "Justified" gave them some kind of cult like following, and the burglary only helped that mystique.  I've had Pappy 23 two different times at $50/shot and while damn good, wouldn't make it a habit.  There are tons of great Kentucky whiskeys out there for under $100/bottle.  Currently I am drinking Blanton's, Col. E. H. Taylor and although I am not a fan of Beam, really like Booker's Small Barrel.
