I normally shave leaving the landing strip.  I never thought about using a wax kit until I saw the pictures Gia posted.  HUGE difference. 

One question though, how long does it usually last when waxing rather than shaving?? 

I'm italian and have naturally thick coarse hair.  I hate that when I shave it starts to grow back the same day... then I can't shave everyday either because no matter how careful I am, razor burn or bumps appear.  It would totally turn me off seeing that on another girl so I can't imagine what anyone else thinks seeing it on me either.

I'm with Elizabeth. I used to keep it closely trimmed, but I shaved completely about 4 years and have kept it that way since. I get a Brazilian wax about every 6 weeks, and shave in between. I've found plain old lube works best for shaving.
