On 23 December, Mrs JBRG and I headed out of town for a few days. When we left, the temperature was about -10C at 8:30 AM. By the time we got to our destination later that afternoon, the temps at home had gone down to -18C and by the time the sun came up on Christmas Eve, the mercury was hovering around -25C. Where we were was quite balmy at -8C for the time we were there. When we got back to our home airport on Boxing Day, it was still -25C (thankfully the truck started without having the block heater plugged in). From then until the morning of 1 January, the temperatures never got above -25C for daytime highs. Now, it's -3C and forecast highs are in the -3 to -4C range until Saturday when the mercury will plunge down to -11C for the daytime high.
Welcome to Alberta where the weather changes more often than some people change their underwear.
