Near the big lakes the trees stay green longer. We were up to the Apostle Islands years ago the end of October. On the drive up all the trees were bare. Near Lake Superior the leaves were in full color. They call it the lake effect.

Been to the Apostle Islands also. Very nice place.   Wonder if that is where the casino is because there is a reservation just south of Bayfield.

Beautiful fall day. Mild temps, may reach 70. Only flaw is we're not getting fall colors. Leaves are just curling up and turning brown. Had severe lack of water this summer. That killed our color. But I'm happy with the warm sunny day.

Our coldest day of the season. Starting out in the 30s, but still a couple degrees above freezing. We'll see 70 again in a few days. Kinda roller coaster weather until winter shows it's frosty face.

The only good thing about it getting colder is that I get yo use unheated seats again.

38 degrees F this morning when we walked. Not bad until we had to turn into the wind.

Hit 75° yesterday and I was loving it. It did seem weird laying out getting last bit of sun and watching leaves fall from the trees.

Had our first snow yesterday. Not too unremarkable for Minnesota. There's been snow as early as September. What makes it crazy is three days earlier the temperature hit 80 degrees.

Minnesota...if you don't like the weather just wait ten minutes and it will change. :emot_laughing:
