I'm sorry not to have something to contribute to this thread, but actively bashing other people's religion is more trouble than I have time for in my busy day of ... well, I'd better not say what I keep busy with every day. But I do appreciate sharp wit, and this thread is about as jam-packed with irony, cynicism and sarcasm as anything I've ever seen. My kind of humor, by crikey! So I give thanks to all the contributors for giving me something to amuse myself with for at least an hour, maybe more.

I did in my youth take a few sallies at reading the bible from start to finish. I don't believe I ever got it all down, and certainly not with any great comprehension. The begats, especially, were beyond tedious. In spite of all that, I did find some memorable passages, and a lot of stuff that sounded good. That was the King James version by the way. Whatever they call the new version, that to me sounds more like bilge water.

Anyway, because I did at least try to read the whole bible, I will do the fair and balanced thing and make it a point to imbibe this entire thread. Thanks again, everyone!

My friends and I tried to read it once when we were really fucked up. It's funny whether you're high or not.

Saw a great cartoon the other day. God on a throne in heaven.
Man was before him and God was an ape.
Caption was: And God made man in his image. then he evolved.
Who thinks about this shit. positively brilliant!

Okay... so it's agreed: This thread is only for people who want to read it? No comments about what an asshole I am? (I'm well aware - I'm an asshole).

Let's see if you can recognize the film reference WITHOUT using Google!

What the fuck... how could that be even remotely hard? I've seen A Clockwork Orange at least 20 times! What pervert hasn't?!? I read the book in fourth grade! I have the sound-bytes on mix tapes I listened to before I could afford a CD player!

It should be required viewing/reading to be on this site. Just sayin'...
