I didn't know that those three publishing giants lost huge amounts of money. Would that have been on ludicrous ventures such as the Caligula movie?

I associate porn publishers with wretched guys languishing behind bars. These days I guess they're all languishing on luxury yachts cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

A long time ago I used to visit an elderly widower who was housebound because of health issues. He would sit in his favorite armchair and ramble on for hours.

On one visit he told me about all the cars he'd ever owned. In the 50s he bought an imported French car (can't remember the make) and said his wife had loved it. Then, with a grin on his face, he said that particular model was very popular with the ladies because. . . . and then he made a vague reference to engine vibrations, and grinned some more.
