As the world turns.

Quote
Washington (AFP) - US Secretary of State John
Kerry said Monday he would be open to cooperating
with Washington's traditional foe Iran on Iraq, and
warned drone strikes were an option to halt a
militant assault.
"I wouldn’t rule out anything that would be
constructive," Kerry told Yahoo News when asked if
the United States would cooperate militarily with
Iran, one of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's key
allies.
Kerry also said that US President Barack Obama is
carrying out "a very thorough vetting of every
option that is available," including drone strikes.

Gee maybe we ought to let Iran do nuke's, be our ally and nuke Iraq. Of course, they are both sunni, or were, so,,,

On the other hand, we could keep nukes out of the hands of both, support both (republicans on one side, Dems on the other) to recreate "back in the day'ism" keep our troops out, and let them kick the shit out of each other.

Iraq and Iran are not both "Sunni's", just sayin'.

Amazing isn't it..???
When we left Vietnam....all hell broke out.
When we left Iraq.........all hell is breaking out.
When we leave Afghanstan....all hell is going to break out.
Do you see a repeating pattern here?..Maybe we should not have even been there in the first place. Unless of course you support the idea that we spend the rest of forever and 100's of gazillions of dollars to support something that is unsupportable.
Love,
Liz

Yes I do.  Send the politicians who are so quick to get us involved in these "wars".  Then send their children if they are over 18. Why should the average citizen be the one to suffer for the false bravado that our politicians are so willingly to proclaim to the world?

They should have left the Baath party in control, Saddam knew how to keep these religious maniacs under control. BTW the ISIS are Sunni militants, taking advantage of a weak Iraqi army, a lot of them have just crossed the border from the war in Syria. The majority of Iraqis are Shia moselems, which is also the case in Iran.

Joan, sometimes its hard to keep score. I think Saddam was Sunni, then they became Shiite, and looks like soon to be Sunni again.

Iran,,, the guy with the funny name I think was Sunni, then, poof he was gone. now maybe its moderately Sunni there now. guess that means only a few religious clouds to deal with.

There's nothing happening in Iraq that can't be solved by devoutly praying before going out and slaughtering unarmed people with their AK-47s.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Exactly right, Grm, Iran is not Sunni... might be some there, but overall is Shia... Syria is a mess, but Shia and Sunni were both living normal middle eastern oppressed lives until recently, led by whatever Assad is, Alowyte?

It matters not, actually, to me, or to the US. They need to get back into their box(es) or die, or just leave our interests alone, step away from the oil, no matter who they are. Will they continue to kill each other? of course. Does it really matter? No, so long as they stay out of our way. Go babble someplace else, please...

thanks for the correction. change the names, switch the uniforms, and you still have the same ball game.

what Katiebee said. not sure if she meant east towards mecca or towards the holy see in the Vatican.

Is there a real difference?

Touchy little instruments, aren't they?   8)

Iran is even afraid of what is happening in Iraq and have sent some of their troops to help the so-called Iraqi army. Obama is thinking of sending Special Forces back to Iraq to train, or re-train their army. Isn't that how the U.S. gets involved in the first place?  First they send advisors, then troops, then more troops.......

yup, easily crosswired, they are.

silly to even consider sending troops to train their army. isn't that one of the main things we have been doing these last many years?

training them now is sorta like cramming for finals,,, the day after you failed the exam.  !!! caution!!!  sarcasm alert!!!

Let's just send bombs. Large ones. Significant ones. And lots of them.

non?  did you perhaps mean none?  just curious.

1. A cutting, often ironic remark intended to
wound.
2. A form of wit that is marked by the use of
sarcastic language and is intended to make
its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.
3. The use of sarcasm.

seems to fit the bill. perhaps you were being sarcastic?

or perhaps just a bit of, um constructive criticism?

anything else is just your opinion.

thanks, your sweet words are always welcome.
