Leaving the test device on longer would put me at risk for infection with two wires going into my back. Also there's.a risk of a wire breaking off with surgery required to dig it out. That would push the permanent implant back even more.

As for pushing it up sooner... the surgery is this Monday.  :D. I need to heal up for a week before the device can be turned on. Things are moving along very fast.  Also I had to stop taking some of my meds before the surgery and starting today I have some other meds to start using.

Thanks for the good wishes tho'. I'm quite happy at how fast things started moving and that cancellation that moved me up two weeks (as you wished for me).

Should ask them about a TENS device. I know people with arthritis in the lower backs use them and they help a lot with the aches and pains.  Granted your issue is a lot different, but it could have helped a lot during the wait.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) uses low-voltage electrical currents to relieve pain. A TENS unit is a small device that delivers the current at or near your nerves to block or change your perception of pain. Healthcare providers use TENS to treat a range of conditions, including osteoarthritis, tendinitis and fibromyalgia

SCS (spinal cord stimulation) is not a TENS unit (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). They are not the same, nor are the costs. A TENS unit, which can purchased over the counter, operates outside the body while an SCS is internal and placed by a doctor in a procedure room under fluoroscopy. A trial is required prior to permanent placement at which time the battery is placed under the skin. It's like a pacemaker battery. SCS is light years ahead of TENS, which has been around for 30 or 40 years.

I was just saying that maybe it would help reduce the pain until he gets the procedure, and he can probably get a free one through the VA.

No I appreciate your advice Shiela. A TENS unit might help but I can hold out another week. If I had to wait for the initial December 18th date it may have to been an option.

It just those first couple hours after waking up that are the worst. I did have the daughter bring my walker in to help me get around.

WMMD is, I'm back at home. 

WRMD   We had a wonderful time, but a cold bug went through all of us.  It hit yesterday.  We're all stuffy headed and just feeling drained of all energy.  Some with sore throats.
Dan who has been sick for a month is better, and his bronchitis has vacated the premises. 

Going to rest and recuperate today.  Hopefully be on later.  I have a ton of new posts to look through.  I'm sure there are some great ones.  Can't wait to get to them, but will have to wait for now.

I've had this type of cold before.  I think I've got another two days.  Lots of rest, lots of liquid in my near future. Sex is going to be off the charts when I get there.  He might have a quart saved up it's been so long.

Being told that due to health, I need to stop drinking 100% for at least awhile to let my body heal. I’ve got like 10 bottles of whiskey and bourbon I was really looking forward to tasting and drinking over the holidays.

Sorry to hear about these health concerns love. Looking forward to something that you can no longer enjoy is quite distressing, but hopefully this will be better than just good for you, and now you have something to look forward to next year. Maybe it'll be a fantastic Independence Day for you!
