:D Here I sit at the VA after getting my second Covid-19 vaccination. Have to wait 15 minutes to make sure I don't end up on the floor doing the "floppy fish"!

Once I leave, I'll be able to sneer at every Covid 19 virus I meet. Go ahead bitch...try me.

Congratulations!  I get my second one in about ten days.  But remember, regardless of which vaccine you get, you won’t get full protection until two weeks after your second or final dose. That’s how long it takes your immune system to mount an antibody response to the vaccine.

Yes... precautions still will be taken. Had tongue in cheek.

What the nurse told me today was I've been protected since two weeks after the first shot. The second is a booster shot. And... still no research on how long the vaccine will protect. It's all new ground for everyone.

I just found out today that my dad got his first shot last week.  I had been asking g him about it for a while, but he just kept saying he'll get it soon.  I stopped asking he goes and gets it and says nothing.  Why, why, why the hell is it so hard for men to communicate.

Still happy the stubborn ass got it.

Made a trip to the  pet food store. Like every other place they have stickers on the floor reminding people to stay six feet apart.
For pet people, they use a different measuring stick. :emot_laughing:

As the vaccines have only been around for about 8 months, it's a little hard to do long-term testing on them.  :emot_kiss:

China tested some of the people that got SARS-1 in 2003/2004... 12 years later, they still had active antibodies.  As long as the virus doesn't mutate so far that your antibodies don't recognize it, you could be at least partially protected for quite some time.

I am hearing rumors that the two vaccine shots might not be enough and that a booster shot may be needed. Though scientists have been preparing for such a time when a pandemic hits the United States, they could not possibly have a vaccine ready because they could not have known what type of a virus it would be. So rushing a vaccine into the market with very little testing is risky at best but needed. Will it stem the spread?  Wearing masks and social distancing seems to be reducing the spread and is a proven method.  We will have to wait on the vaccine's effectiveness.

I salute you for doing this.

There's so much bad information floating around, and it seems everyone's a virologist or pandemic expert these days. It's great that your taking the time to absorb science and real information --- and that you're sharing it with others!

I go to a neurologist every 3 months for a check up. I went earlier and everything went great. I'm in a great mood today.

Dinner out tonight at a small Italian place way on the other side of the metro area. Haven't been there since the pandemic started. Food still as great as ever and enough left for dinner tomorrow.

My new oversized Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady jersey was delivered by the UPS man today (replacing the damaged one that came a week ago).   I got it for wearing around in the evening when we get our PJ's on, instead of just walking around in my tank top, it'll sort of be a coverup in the evenings.

So the big question is...... do I wear it in that fashion tonight?  Or do I let Dan wear it to bed tonight and we can play the game, "Tom Brady pays Jules a visit".  hmmm, that could be fun.  In case you didn't know, I have a thing for #12.
