Does God exist? For anyone with an open, enquiring mind there can only be one conclusion, extremely unlikely. I think of myself as an atheist, i.e there definitely isn't a god, but no one can prove there isn't one, so I guess I'm an atheist/slightly agnostic. Those who believe, just believe, why? Their parents believed and passed on their blind faith to their offspring. The belief in god causes more horror and distress to humankind than any good it purports. Isn't it time we ditched  god and started using our brains?

My mom was raised Mormon and my dad Methodist.  I was raised Unitarian/Universalist.   Wikipedia describes Unitarian Universalism (UUism) as:

.....a theologically liberal religious movement characterized by its support of a "free and responsible search for truth and meaning." This principle permits Unitarian Universalists a wide range of beliefs and practices. Unitarian Universalist congregations and fellowships tend to retain some Christian traditions such as Sunday worship that includes a sermon and singing of hymns, but do not necessarily identify themselves as Christians.

But what Wiki is missing is that Unitarian Universalists believe is that all religions hold great truths.  The interesting thing about this belief is that it leads to Atheism.  How can all religions be true unless they are all just creations of man?

So I am an Atheist too GRM.

And religious wars are really just about folks arguing about who has the best invisible friend  :D

Of course it is possible that a person may not follow their parents religion, it could happen more often than we know, but if someone has a strong belief in a god, most follow their parent's faith.

Well it was more than i could have expected to find a civilized theological thread here lol. Not the average topic of conversation for a site dedicated to roleplay, erotic literature, and rape fantasies.

Anyway i belive there is a god. And thats pretty much it. I was raised catholic. i even went to catholic school for most of my early years. ("early years" wtf im 19) That in itself stomped all the catholicness out of me. however i do retain that there is a god. There are to many examples of things that couldn't happen from simple genetics and science. And its nice to have something to fall back to when the goin gets rough. Now thats not to say ive had a good relationship with my god as of late, but ive never not believed that there was something out there that has my best interests in mind.

And if your want to reply to my post. be mature or i wont give a fuck.

Everyone has the right to believe in anything they wish to. I might believe there is a large teapot floating in space between the Earth and the Moon, this might seem madness to some, but as neither of us can prove it does or it doesn't, thats OK. Natural selection is the explanation for every living thing we see on this planet, not the man with the white beard or the celestial teapot.

Well, my time in Catholic school State prison, with Warden/Sister Mary Rulersmack tried to make me believe there is a God. Lots and lots of guilt and headtrips later....

I still would feel pretty stupid screaming "OH TEAPOT!" when I cum!!!  :o

i was once an inmate of catholic school. 8 years of guilt and church and uniforms did one thing. And that was stomp the living crap out of all the catholisims i had. Now that doesnt mean i dont belive in a god. Just catholics suck. realy realy bad. Best thing about Catholic school...
