OK guys don't get carried away. If there was a god and I happened to be him the first thing I would do is put an end to war, to famine, to child abuse, I could go on, but my life and yours wouldn't be long enough. But the history of mankind isn't encouraging, I guess as we get older we become more cynical and less hopeful that things will change for the better in this world of ours, we can only be grateful for the time we have to enjoy its chaos. We are the lucky ones on this planet.

my argument on this subject is very simple if god created this planet y do people in places like africa die in there thousands because it never rains there so they cant grow crop its too dry so if there was a god u have to ask yourself y doesnt he make it rain after all he created us so y would he let thousands die threw starvation that as always been y im a atheist

Your argument is easily refuted.

God created man, and bestowed upon him free will. Man creates for himself areas of the world with greater wealth, and areas which fester with disease and starvation. God does not interfere because to do so would negate free will.

Right?

I am simply showing you that arguing against the existence of God on the basis of His perceived neglect is a flawed stance, and any theological scholar could refute your argument with greater ease than I did.

It's hard to have a developed debate with someone who insists on acting like English isn't their first language.

Does God/god/gd/g exist? NO. He/she/it was invented. So argue all you want, it don't mean shit to me.

Who is GOD?
I AM GOD.
I AM, because I AM, because I WILL.

See, so simple, even you can do it.

C.

Anybody mind if a fly from the wall jumps in? I just wanna throw a few (I think they could be called) facts out there.

The use of God to explain the creation of the universe makes no more or less sense than those brought forth by science.

Those that do not believe in God are also following faith. Since there is no proof either way, they are making a decision without proof (constituting faith).

I personally believe that God exists, but not in the way described by any religion that I have been exposed to. In fact, a large majority of theologians will tell you that organized religion is not really all that good for your faith. If you go to church, you are told what to believe, and you are told that whatever you are being taught is true and absolute. "Truth" and "absolution" eliminate faith in place of (however untrue) "fact". According to Kierkegaard, if you do not experience feelings of anxiety about your faith, then something is not right. It's your immortal soul, for crying out loud - you should be TERRIFIED of the possibility that you are wrong.

Back to whether or not God exists, I'd like to bring up Pascal's Wager:

      a)Believing vs. b)Not believing
      c)God exists vs. d)God doesn’t exist

I. (a+c) = infinite gain + finite loss
II. (a+d) = finite loss + no infinite gain
III. (b+d) = finite gain + no infinite gain
IV. (b+c) = infinite loss + finite gain

Logically, belief is the safest bet, BUT one must consider if God would approve of us looking at this from such a logical perspective. Imagine if your partner were proposing to you, but they explain to you that the way they decided they wanted to spend the rest of their life with you was through a mathematical formula... If I were God (no blasphemy intended), I would surely rather you make the decision based on love and passion rather than logic.

Contemplate, ponder, the unknown force.

Priests or prophets and altered thinking.

Did God create man or did Man create god?

Is not all Men God in themselves or is it God in all Men?

The all Knowing Eye or the I Am or the Eye Am that I Am?

All being equal, is it not understanding that we all quest.

I have learned most in solitude and confinement locked a prison of my own making. I built it and I hide the key.

I believe there is a super force or a higher power and that higher power is not me.

If One believes they are their own higher power may I suggest the next you are within a foot or two of a cop just reach out and slap him..;-)

I believe there is a supreme being out there somewhere. Known as God, Allah, Buddha etc. For each positive there is a negative, that being Satan/Devil. I don't mean to make lite of this serious conversation, but I'm afraid when I leave my present status I will be speaking to the later. Hope I haven't offended to many folks out there.

Dreams are made of this, why am I here? Why do I exist? What comes next? Since mankind has never been able to answer these questions other than explain the evolution of living organisms on planet earth. He has had to invent the supreme tea pot in the sky, an afterlife that does not exist a way to explain man's predilection to harm other humans.

I've been waiting to wade in on this subject.

Everyone has their own opinion, and I'm not seeking to change anyone's mind, just stating my own experience.

I have actually witnessed miracles. I'm a believer, besides I see God's work everyday in a little girl's smile. There is nothing more perfect, pure, or wonderful than a little girl's smile.

I have been beaten up, bitten, blown up, burnt, run over, shot, and stabbed. The fact that I still have ten working fingers and toes and that I'm able to not only walk upright, but run, is nothing short of a miracle.

Some people have a five year plan. I realize that every day is a gift and if I go tonight, my only regrets are that I never married or had a child.

To me this is one of those unprovable things. That is why religion is about faith and belief and not cold hard fact.
