As you note, is not easy to pull a broadcast license. I don't have his exact verbiage in front of me, and often he tends to "wish" when such issues draw attention, and is not personally threatening Presidential action.

"The American Founders invoked our Creator four times in the Declaration of Independence -- four times."

But the didn't invoke our Creator even once in the U.S. Constitution -- zero times.

But we have a very, very strict definition of what we believe is "evil." Racism -- that's not evil, that's patriotism! Discrimination against anyone who isn't a white, straight Christian male of European decent -- that's not evil, that's what it means to be a Great American!

This is the first time an American President has addressed an anti-LBGTQ group.

Dourson has helped DuPont avoid liability damages for PFOA, a dangerous chemical used in Teflon that is linked to cancer and thyroid disease.
In a study funded by Dow AgroSciences, Dourson argued it would be safe for children ages 1 to 2 to consume the toxic pesticide chlorpyrifos at levels more than 5,000 times higher than the limit proposed by the EPA in 2016.
Dourson worked with the American Chemistry Council, a chemical industry front group, to fight against efforts to ban toxic flame retardant chemicals. These chemicals have been linked to cancer, reduced IQ, infertility and learning disorders.

So, was Barry McGuire correct, really? Was the time he describes truly the Eve of Destruction? Of course not. Did Hippys and other left leaning souls think it was, and cry out about it, and try to upend whoever was making decisions at the time? Of course.

Hyperbole much? The same is true today. Life happens, adults deal with it, and then adults attempt to get those dragging their feet out of the way.

The 1960s was a very volatile decade. Assassinations of prominent people, the war in Vietnam, social unrest, etc. Luckily, President Kennedy had defused the atomic bomb situation by having Khrushchev blink first over the build up in Cuba. Whether he would never have involved us as deeply as Johnson did in Vietnam will never be known. But the Presidents of the 1960s used tact, unlike our current President. They did not spout off what can be perceived as threats to Russia, China or others. They talked tough but did it tactfully. Our current President reminds me of a bully. And sooner or later, someone will call out a bully and either make him eat his words or walk the talk. In these times, I, for one, do not wish to see that happen.
