Over the past few days, I've received about 20 emails from various companies telling me that they've updated their privacy policy, or something along those lines.

It's obviously something they're required to do, but what requirement compels them to do this, and why May 24th?

EU's General Data Protection Regulations ("GDPR") which will go into effect on May 25th, 2018.

While the GDPR is a European law, we are taking this opportunity to clarify and apply our privacy policy to everyone, no matter where you're located.

This question is so specific, and my knowledge of the correct terminology is so weak, I'm not sure anyone can answer it.

Typically, the first thing I do when I log in on my laptop is right click the Firefox icon and log in to my email, which was at the top of the "Frequent" list. For whatever reason, that's gone. Okay, it only saved me about 4 seconds, but it was convenient. Is there any way to put it back?

On a related note, in Firefox when I click the + thing to open a new tab, it shows a list of "Top Sites," with a tiny screenshot. How can I add sites to that page?

Apologies for my techno-ignorance...

I haven't used firefox in a lonnnnnnnnnnng time.   Try this........

First, go to your email account online.
Now, there should be an icon in the url (address bar).  
See if you can drag that icon to your desktop.
When you want to come online, just click that shortcut and it will take you right to your email account.

You should also be able to set it up as a shortcut on the bookmark bar.

Keep using Firefox! It is one of the best browsers with regard to not selling your information. Chrome is the absolute worst.

Sounds like you cleared your History and Location Bar. Not a bad idea to do every so often, along with your cache, as it takes up valuable real estate on your hard drive.

If you want to be able to visit the page once you've loaded up Firefox, then you can pin the page to the Top Sites list you see when you load up (or open a new tab). Once you've visited the page, close and reopen Firefox. You should see an ellipsis in the top right corner of the page preview when you put your mouse over it; click on it, and select Pin from the drop-down menu. This should save it from being deleted on a history clear (and even from falling off the Top Sites list altogether).

Does anybody know how to pull audio off a video file?  I downloaded two apps and one wants me pay for that feature, and I cant figure out how to use the other.

Any thoughts or app suggestions.
