1000% agree.  Fortunately have never experienced. Some friends have though, and they were hating life at the time because.

Get well soon VV

I am overreacting. I know I'm overreacting, but I cant stop overreacting.

Dad's girlfriend Julie, asked me for my meatball recipe. I've made these meatballs every first packer game of the season ever since we rebuilt our relationship. It's one of my favorite things to do for him. She told me he keeps bringing them up when she talk about what to make for the party. She wants to make them for him because she wants to do something special. The only change I have ever made to them was to make them with venison, only because he wanted to try it.

This is bothering far more than it should, or at least I feel like it is. This is the first time since they got together that something has bothered me about her. She is a fantastic person and has been a joy to be around and I know my dad is head over heels with her.

I know I'm overreacting and my friends even said, let her make the version ones, and I can do beef, but its mine and my thing to do for him. I'm so overreacting I've even thought, "let them have their party, I'll go over to Allan's parents with my meatballs and party with them."

Go up Shy, They're just meatballs.

I have a number of secret recipes that I have been asked for. Some of them were given to me by my grandmothers. And others I’ve come to do myself.

I’m sure she meant no offense, and she has no idea the special significance this recipe has for you. But I would just tell her honestly, “It is my secret recipe, and this is a special thing between me and my dad. I’m happy to make them for your party, but I prefer to keep this secret recipe for myself. No offense.”

It’s not the meat balls, it’s the relationship thing with your dad. It may have more significance to you than it does for him. I doubt she would be offended or make an issue out of it. If she does, then there is the problem.

That's a tough one Shiela. It's easy for outsiders to to see both sides.

My final vote is to go with Toe. Talk to her one on one ( maybe over drinks) and maybe share another recipe as a peace offering.

She sounds like a wonderful addition to your family group. Keeping the relationship with everyone is more important in the end. Good luck. :emot_kiss:

I sent her the recipe. Think sharing it will make dad happy. Part of the family kinda thing. I feel ok about it, and I'm hoping it's not just the clonazepam

In the grand scheme of things, it's no big deal to give her the recipe.  And she can make them anytime she wants for him EXCEPT for Packers games.
Just in a nice way, let her know it's your thing on game day

I don't give family recopies outside the family, but family is a funny term.  If she is wanting to make them for your dad, then that tends to make me treat it like part of learning to be family.  To strangers?  No chance.

Lost morning. Took care of morning routine.(Diabetes care, taking various meds that keep me going then coffee and English Muffin for easy breakfast) So mid-morning I made it to my easy chair with my Sunday paper and only a few pages in I conked out, sound asleep. Didn't wake up until after 1:00.

Lost morning.

There is no such thing. That sounds like a perfect morning. Think about all the times you’ve had trouble sleeping in the last year, or been uncomfortable, or have been worried about something. And here you just sat down, fell asleep, and had a nice long rest. You’ve earned that Bob.

I'm 5 days post op for a vasectomy and my balls still look and feel shitty.  I know I should take it easy, but I'm also rushing to get a company launched by the end of the week and get things ready for a festival so there is no taking it easy.

I was also at a kid's birthday party today and apparently having sore, recently operated on genitalia is a magnet for every kid in the tri-county area to find a way to hit.

My daughter called me to ask if egging a house was a rational response.  Since this was the calm one, I asked to what.

Shooting two puppies on their own farm, and throwing them in the slough.

I kid you not, the farm that is owned by her room mate/land lords and fellow vet students that Alyssa volunteers at for large animal medicine practice has farm dogs that just had a litter of puppies.  All are being socialized by the parents and learning to be good stock dogs before they get adopted out.  All already had owners lined up, they are of a line of very good stock dogs.  Their neighbor decided it was the thing to do to pull up along side their property line on his tractor, and shoot the puppies across the fence, then grab the bodies and toss them in the slough.

The cops have been called, so that is in the works, eventually,  Very small town, so justice will be go around to.  My daughter called me and asked if a road trip to the farm to egg the puppy shooting neighbors house was warranted.  I assured her, egging puppy shooting assholes is entirely reasonable.  If they object, upgrade to stones.  The local cop is one of the people waiting on puppies from the litter, so expect little sympathy for the dog shooter.

As an animal lover I can well understand the fury your daughter is feeling.

That said doing something that could cause her legal problems is not the answer, no matter how satisfying it may feel. Let the authorities take care of this legally.

Let's hope the asshole gets what's coming to him. No doubt there's already bad blood between the two parties so an egging will make those feelings worse.

My young boss is in British Vancouver, getting ready to embark on a cruise to Tokyo. He’ll be back sometime in October. I envy his travel schedule, but it’s a horrible way to run a law office. I really have zero incentive to go in today, or any other.

I wonder how long it takes to cross the Pacific. One month seems to be cutting it fine. Will he be flying back to the US?
