Came home early, and my son is playing Call of Duty on the xBox.

“What are you doing home? I thought you were working all day!”

“ I got in a fight at Pizza Hut, so I took the day off.”

“But you said Halloween is the 2nd busiest night of the year! Lot’s of tips.”

“It’s a hostile work environment, I can’t take it.”

“Come spend a few days at my office…”

Dan is still sick. The coughing!!!  ick. Doctor says he not contagious. I think I mentioned he has bronchitis.  Still, not taking chances, I'm sleeping in the middle ones bed.

Today I work outside. Supposed to hit 54.  I mulched the buhjeezes out of the leaves in the front yard, crosscutting the lawn 3 times.  Today I tackle the back yard.  It's 5 inches deep in spots.  It's half the size as the front yard because of the pool/patio, but more leaves.
The bad news.  There are still a lot of leaves yet to fall.  This will not be my last venture outside.  I love fall, but when the temps are a little warmer.  I can handle mid-50's but a week or two from now, the f'n 40's is going to be rough. Dan better get well soon and start helping around the house, or I'm showing him the door.  haha ;)

Dan is STILL sick.  12 days.  I did a bit of lip service the other day.  But what did I get out of it.  NOTHING.
A girl has needs, ya know.

Maybe a machine? or give him medicine and see if you can get a quick ride?

I have to get 100 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) in my specialty, every five years, to maintain my “board certification.” 2024 is a certification year, and I am still about 36 hours short.

So I am spending today, tomorrow, and Friday in lawyer school. And it is boring.

Go full bore Perry Mason on them, then toss in some Matlock. I mean as long as they learn what you are teaching, the delivery is irrelevant. Spice it up with some saucy case files, like US vs. Flynn or Flint. I believe if I was in law school, with you as a teacher I would not be bored. But I was the annoying student in classes always with the questions. I stg that professors would groan if my name was on the roll.

I'm trying to buy Xmas gifts and I have absolutely no clue what to buy the kids.
I've been on those Buzzeed sites that pop up with titles like "25 things people don't know how they lived without these products" and other similar titles.   Been all over Amazon.  Been looking at articles on upcoming Black Friday deals.
100% clueless.
Clothes, shoes, jackets, belts, makeup. Yeah, that's easy
But I want to get them each at least one fun and unique item that they are like, "wow! "Doesn't have to be expensive just something to surprise them.
The little one is getting a turn table for her vinyl record albums, plus a few albums.  The older two...clueless.

I spent two hours looking this morning.

I did put something on my list though.  A milk frother and a hot water bottle..  I would love to slip into bed and not freeze.  A hot water bottle slipped in an hour before I go to bed sounds  really great for my feet  thatare so cold in the winter.  Plus, it's so old school and I'm just thinking it would be cool.

I have had my Nespresso Aeroccino for YEARS! Daily ritual of whipping up a big frothy load of cream (sounds rather sexual, doesn’t it) for my morning Joe. I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS.

I’m not sure they even still make this. But it is the best.

I've got one that sits in my cupboard. It was a flavor of the day type of thing. I used it so much when I first got it, and jow it just sits there. I used it to mix up some health shakes a couple times, and hot chocolate.

I just googled it. It's available.
Have you ever tried frothing Oat milk?  That's what I drink.  If so, does it work?
It halfass worked on my Keurig Cafe frother. But not great

Dan got a Z-pack, hoping to knock the bronchitis out of him.  Not normally prescribed for it, but Dan said he wants to try anything.  Plus he's sounding worse.  He's starting to feel worse in his sinus/head/throat.
He says the next step is I take him out back and put him out of his misery like an old sick dog.

With his head and sinuses feeling worse, I'm sleeping in the middle one's bed while she's still at college.

My friends date was terrible.   She texted me yesterday morning "Shitshow"

I texted back and she didn't respond.  Then I texted to come over for bagels and coffee.  She and her son came over.

30 minutes into dinner they had differing opinions on politics, the Israeli Gaza conflict, covid (he's an anti vaxer).   She figured the night was shot anyways, so she asked his thoughts on abortion.

The waiter stopped by shortly after setting their meals down to see if they needed anything else and Barb said,, "Just the check."     Hahaha, midmeal.

Her son thanked us for the bagel and coffee and jogged home.  Barb hung out with us for a few hours, then we all went shopping. M needs to dress shop.  We have a very nice mall nearby and the three of us had a fun day.  It was nice spending time with her.

And as I finish typing this post.  I hear Dan is out of bad.  The coughing continues.   UGH.  I know he's tired of it. But so am I.  Please may it end soon.

My best goes out to him.

Right after the radiation treatment on the crack in my sternum from the cancer pushing it apart I started with a dry cough.

Went a few weeks then stopped. Best the docs could come up with was the radiation had irritated the esophagus. Stopped just as quick as it started.

Sucks your friends date didn't work out. Seemed like you both were quite excited about it.

As for Dan. Hope this is the beginning of the end of illness

In today's political spectrum, politics, vac, no vac even sports teams even. It is almost a requirement that you each fill out a questionnaire before hooking up.

Lots of fish in the sea. Hope next time Barb hooks a good one.

Angry client decided to fire off a long missive at 10:45 pm last night. Today I have another case set for mediation that is a mess. And I am shaking like a leaf. Neuro difficulties flaring up due to “stress and anxiety.”  Say a prayer…

Why aren't you taking a month long vacay. Ok maybe not a month, but you've got to be able to go "off grid" for a week. It's scary reading that you're so stressed and anxious its causing that kind of physical reaction.
