First word I got today, from any source, was that a dear friend of mine passed away last night. David was a fraternity brother, drinking buddy, client, and commiserator. So sorry Toe. I'm still greaving the loss of my best friend nearly a year ago. When someone is etched on your heart, they're always with you.

Last thing he asked of me a couple days before he died was to watch over his wife. I've tried to do that. She's a friend too, so it's not hard. Bonus to me, when I go out I have two lovely ladies with me.

Well we knew it was coming but we got the official word today.

Our home health care worker is retiring on the 31st of the month  :'(.  She has been absolutely A1 at cleaning and helping us out around the house.

We'd had several other people at first while the company got our schedule worked out.  They were all good and we were happy with the work they did.

Then finally after a couple months a regular schedule was set and we were assigned a regular person. Most ppl were younger, then Kathy came through the door. It was like a white tornado hit the house.

At first wife and I called her  Chatty Kathy. She came in, plopped down on the couch and started taking away. Finally off she went. We had a few things we asked her to do. She took care of those and she started looking for what else needed doing.

She told me she's always loved to clean and she looks for what needs to be done. Soon we just turned the house over to her and she's been taking care of everything. If she needs cleaning supplies we get them for her.

We knew retirement was coming. I was hoping the end of the year. Nope! TRICK OR TREAT Bob. Oct. 31st. So sad.
