Jules, I'm so sorry to hear the news about Joe/Kevin. He was such a bright light when he was active on KB.

I know you stayed close with him and I feel your loss. Thanks for letting us know what happened. Take care Jules.

Well trained and been made compliant....by my cat Neville

Jules, I hope you can feel all the virtual hugs being directed to you. Pass one (or more) on to his daughter, your niece. She needs you more than ever now that she's an orphan. Bless you for being a stable influence in her life.

My own brother-in-law was rushed to the hospital this morning after he collapsed. He was diagnosed with stage four cancer. He will be losing an arm at the very least, and his hold on life will be tenuous from here on.

I keep reading the responses here with heavy thoughts, but I’ll be damned if I can seem to put those thoughts into anything that resembles eloquent words of sympathy.

I’m sorry for your loss Jules.

Thank you guys.   In hindsight, I shouldn't have posted it in here.  I sort of hijacked the topic a bit.

I know how you feel Jed.  I am the worst at expressing condolences.

We appreciate it everyone.   I know I'm in everyones thoughts.   Thank you.

I'm doing much better as time continues on.  I came back in to work today, and my niece went to school.  Trying to get things back to normal, if that is possible.

Considering the circumstances, I wouldn't beat myself up over it.  I've never been much of a mourning person, myself.

Jules as an expert on how to hijack threads based on pages of me talking about Chirp blowing me, I can say you did nothing of the sort.

Sorry, but your first sentence is wrong.

If you boil down everyone's comments to their essence, the meaning that remains is what you said in the second sentence, using only six words.

That's the very definition of eloquent: vividly or movingly expressive

My 6's bed head.

How can she have such pretty hair during the day but in the morning it's a disaster?

About an hour and a half of sleep tonight.

Buying 10 books in 10 days for my kindle.  It's the only way I can cope with not sleeping.  Reading will sometimes help me sleep.  I used to get tired reading.   It hasn't lately.  I think it stimulates my mind and is keeping me awake even more.
Too much thinking lately.  Too much going on.  Too much worrying.  Yet I know everything is going to be fine.  My mind is racing.
Running and exercise used to keep my body balanced.  That isn't working either.
A doctor friend has written me two prescriptions.  My insomnia laughed at it.
I just need to f'ing sleep.

You could try reading one of my stories. That might put you to sleep.  :D

Sorry, my default reaction to things I can't do anything about is to fling humor at it.

I've gone through periods of similar insomnia so I can identify with your frustration, but I got nothing else to offer. You already know that it will eventually get better, so it won't help to tell you that.

PS: If I get the time machine that I asked for, I'll let you borrow it to go a few days into the future until you get past this...

Hey, that just might work.  ;)

I'll be hitting a wall in about 3 hours.  I'll try to sleep a bit at lunch.   I'm wide awake right now, but it's a wierd wide awake, like I'm caffiened up but I'm not because I just had a water today.  I've been laying off caffiene since Friday.

Partner #1 agrees to split fee on a big case I brought to the firm.  I’ve worked 3.5 years on this.  A senior named partner was in office yesterday, and based on prior experience, I go into his office to confirm the arrangement.  “Oh no, Bill (the managing partner of my branch office) had no authority to make that agreement with you, [we’ll do some Hollywood accounting] and [give you a shitty little bonus] at the end of the year.”  Lawyers, guns, and money.

I have a much, much larger case that funds next year.  Fool me once...

This happens to me too, on occasion.

Insomnia sux.

They say I need them, but they cost $7,000.  I got on eBay and bought some Chinese clones for $35.  I keep them in my pocket and wear them when I need a little help.
