What is Fame?
You will see a Fame under a member's name on each post, by clicking on Woo you show your approval of a post, or if you wish, Boo which will show the opposite. Fame is the total Woos minus any Boos that member has received for their posts.

No rating system,, in my opinion, whether anonymous or not, is conducive to an open environment of dialogue and opinions. Some members are afraid to post because they think, rightly or wrongly, they may be minused, or booed as the case is now. Others may post only what they deem will be most favorable to most, insuring pluses. But I understand where grm is coming from in having the system. Like most systems, though, either they have to change with the times or they become ineffective.

Why do we have a 'karma' system? Well most message board templates have them installed as an option. I just think its a way for members to express their opinion of postees, although I do admit that some do take offence to bad karma and maybe, although it would surprise me, might alter their posting in order to attract the right sort of karma. At the end of the day some will like it and some not, I like it, but having said that if you can show me that the majority of members would prefer the board to not have a karma system, I will remove it.

The sad fact of the matter is that only a very small percentage of members post more then once, so most of that small percentage know the posters and their tastes. The core members. There are some of us who give a plus to new members when they introduce themselves. Don't get me wrong. I understand where you are coming from. I also believe we should try new things to increase participation by members. Not easy being an administrator - let alone of an adult fantasy site.

I only give + or - when I particularly like or dislike a post... except for Staci - I just give her +'s cause I love her so freekin much...

I think most of my points were given cause I acted like a hooker! If it went away, I would not care anymore than I do now, which is hardly at all.

In fact... I give a +1 to me for posting in this poll! Oh wait... I can't... See how dumb that is?
