Now reading "Payback" by Kimberley Chambers. It seems loosely based on the Kray Twins... or at least that was the way it appeared in the beginning. The main character is a brute called... Vinny… who has a son Little Vinny.

I confess, here and now, those Vinny characters bear no resemblance to this, the real, and only, vinney…

Saberthorn
by Sheri-Lynn Marean

A new author (first book March 2016).  The book caught my eye on the Kindle page. 50 Reviews with 86% a 5 star.
Dragon/Fantasy.   I like it so far.  I haven't read a fantasy book in ages.

Day of the Triffids, by John Wyndham

The starting context is getting a little dated, especially for non-Brits, but there are still aspects that ring chillingly true (such as the middle-class religious fundamentalist colony), and I really shouldn't have been reading it just before I fell asleep.

I Spy, I Saw Her Die by Ian C.P.Irvine.

Quite a challenging and absorbing tale... nearly half way through it and am rivetted to it...

Don't Laugh........
But I found a couple of copies of "Prince Valiant" (The Sunday comics one).
Bought volumes 1 thru 6........Even though they are comics, they are really good.

Liz

“The Only Pirate at the Party” by Lindsey Sterling. Her autobiography. I love her performances, she is a great role model and inspirational.

JANE EYRE by Charlotte Bronte

Not an easy read, considering the time it was written and the employment of the language, but the moving story and the wonderful insights of the author/narrator make up for the
difficulty translating the material.

Not my usual cup of tea, but then I don't read a book just to say I am reading a book, not like some people I know who move from one to another like they are turning the pages of magazines.

A book has to say something to me, and this one started speaking to me from the first page.

I'd lost track of Kim Harrison's 'The Hollows' series (paranormal / urban fantasy), and didn't know she'd released another book in the series last year, The Turn.  It goes all the way back to the beginning of the story in the late '60s and explains how The Turn happened.

Looking at her website, she's working on a new book in the series titled 'American Demon'.

Longstone by LJ Ross a murder mystery set in the Northeast of England. It's the tenth in a series of excellent police tales in the same area. LJ Ross has proved herself an excellent author.

THE HISTORY OF JIHAD. from Muhammad to lSIS.

Just started.  According to author Robert Spencer, From the beginning it has always been the “One True Religion “ to its believers and everyone else must submit or die. So it looks like we non-believers will never win or even tie.

I just finished reading "The Harrad Experiment " by Robert Rimmer.
Pretty good book even if it is something like 50+ years old.
They even made it into a movie.

Love,
Liz
