Welcome to the world of SSI Toe. We're doing our part to use it up fast before the youngsters get there. ;D

If you have a 1/2 day to kill, you can go to the SS office and get in line to find out. the date goes by the day you were born 1-15, 15-31

I'd suggest setting up your online account at SSA. You should be able to find out anything you need to know about your personal Social Security benefits. Periodically, I need the form for proof of income, which you can download and print. Or have a paper copy mailed.

Before you do that, you'd be wise to set yourself up with login.gov. As the front of that web page says, "The public’s one account for government. Use one account and password for secure, private access to participating government agencies."

I know login.gov works for both SSA and Medicare. There's no early enrollment in Medicare, you can only apply once you turn 65, assuming that you don't have a disability that's covered.

If you signed up for direct deposit, they make all the deposits on Wednesdays. My wife gets hers on the third Wednesday each month, mine is deposited on the fourth Wednesday, just in time to pay bills. I don't know how they determine who gets paid in a given week, but that's the way it works. I don't think there's any way to change it once your week has been chosen.

Thanks PS. I have the online account with login.gov and access. That is how I found out about my approval.

Thanks for the info about Wednesdays. Yesterday was Wednesday.

I got my benefit verification letter today, and it looks like they intend to pay me about 90% more than I thought I would get. And they’re going to pay me two months initial benefits. I’m not gonna be wealthy, but I think I will actually be able to get by with a little help from my friends.

After literally crying myself to sleep last night today's good news about our Lady Sheriff has made my day. Keep the prayers going. She still needs a ton of help from all of us.

After staying awake for two nights worried sick, I finally turned my phone on airplane mode and slept about 10 hours. I’m greatly relieved and hoping for more good news.
