Just watched Kill Boksoon on Netflix. Feel kind of mixed on it. Wasn’t bad but felt like it dragged along also.

Next might watch the new Top Gun movie on Prime.

Paint
I thought it was supposed to be a movie loosely based off Bob Ross, but other than painting scenery, it had nothing to do with Bob Ross. It wasn't bad, and had a rather decent plot to it, but the only thing I could think of was

"What Flip Flopping year is it supposed to be?!?!"

At first you'd think the 80's, but then parts make you think the 70s maybe 60s, and then they have stuff from the 2000s.

Rotary phones with call waiting flat screen TVs with a telethon and Uber... um WHAT?

We went to see AIR today.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Great music.  I recommend it. Only downside is that I hated Ben's acting though.  I'm becoming less and less of a fan of his.

I would not have expected that. I dont have an interest in basketball, nor does a lot of people I know.

Saw that new Mario movie. I'm an 80s baby that grew up with Nintendo, so i was expecting to see some nostalgia. I didn't play a whole lot of video games, but Allan loves that stuff so he was pretty stoked about seeing it. It was cute, but WAY more violent than I thought it should have been. Good 80's sound track though. Love me some A-Ha

Oh god, I'm not a basketball fan.  The story was more about NIKE and the pursuit of signing Michael Jordan.  NIKE was my running shoe for years, so that part of the story was really of interest to me.
And prior to signing him, their highest gross in their basketball shoe department was about 3 million in a year.  The year after they signed him it was something like $180million.   (trying to recollect the number, may not have been 180, but it was a heckuva a lot more than 3.)
The movie is good.  The music is great (for a 80's-90's kid).

Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter on NBC. What a tremendous testimony for a multi-talented generational entertainer.

Ironic that after her show ran for 11 years on CBS, it's NBC that salutes her, don't you think?

We've Tivoed the Carol Burnett special. Will watch it this weekend. I'm sure I'll roar with laughter at some of the clips they'll show. She's still a great talent at 90 and was able to bring out the best in those who worked with her.

No doubt there will be some misty eyes as so many of the stars she appeared with have passed away.

Watched "Kelly's Heroes" last night. Still hurt from laughing so hard. Yeah, I've seen it several times, but doubt if I'll ever get tired of it.

It's not too far off the truth from some of what went on during WW II. What the Germans didn't loot the GI's cleaned out.

It was fun seeing an all star cast as they moved through enemy lines on their way to rob a bank full of gold. The General heard radio traffic about the breakthrough and heads out with a box full of medals to congratulate the "heroes".

It's a most enjoyable film that's held up over the years. With so many of the stars dead now also adds to the pleasure of the movie, watching how great they were.

Air (2023)

The movie explores how Nike's basketball shoe division was struggling in 1984 due to low sales, and how the company's Marketing VP Rob Strasser and CEO Phil Knight tasked basketball talent scout Sonny Vaccaro to find a new spokesperson for their shoes. Although they considered third draft pick Michael Jordan off limits due to his preference for Adidas and Converse, Vaccaro convinced them that Jordan was a generational talent, and that Nike should pursue him and try to convince Jordan to sign with Nike.

Great flick.  Incredible. Matt Damon is just awesome.

A Man Called Otto. Tom Hanks does what Tom Hanks does best and that's turn what most likely wouldn't e heen a burning slow movie into something that I really enjoyed. A relatively small cast with a lot of character. I'm not a movie critic by any means. But I recommend it 100%

The latest series of "Inside No.9" on the BBC, from the people who brought us "The League Of Gentlemen".  Short (half-hour) horror stories with a comic twist, or maybe vice versa.

NYT recommended Heat (2003) on Netflix as the best “thinking man’s action flick ever.” I had not seen it in 20 years, but I have to agree. The character development, the subplots, the dialogue are all Michael Mann masterpieces.  DeNiro and Pacino were at the top of their game. Winona was delectable. Great movie.

What else...Scooby-Doo.  The version called. "Be cool Scooby-Doo,". I'd the best.  It's the only one that ever made me laugh out loud.

If someone can tell me how to attach a picture, I'll upload a screenshot.

Thanks.

KB doesn't host images directly. You need to upload them to an image hosting site, my personal favourite is imgur because they turn a blind eye to porn posted privately.  When you have uploaded your image, right click on it and select "copy image link". Then back on KB click on the thread reply button, select the image icon (Mona Lisa, first one on the second row at the top of the reply pane). Your cursor will automatically be placed between the html img tags, then right click and select paste. Preview/Post as normal.

The Departed (2006)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

Two films I saw a very long time ago. Better than I remember them.  Or perhaps my perceptions have changed with the years. I perceive and interpret things differently, as I age.

Just watched the start of the final season of "Endeavor". This has been the prequel to the very popular series "Inspector Morse". I very much enjoyed that show so to see a young Morse develop in this prequel has been entertaining

I'm looking forward to seeing how the producers wrap up the series. My big hope is that we see Morse get that classic Jag that he drove in the original series.

OK, I must confess I checked and the "Inspector Morse" series is only available on BritBox. How many streaming services can you get on Social Security?

So I checked on the DVDs. Amazon had the full series for just fifty bucks and change. One click and it was ours. Too dang easy

According to an earlier post by Miss Barbara it's available on Prime in the USA.  I think you will be very pleasantly surpised at the finale.
