12:50 a.m.  Tired all day.  Popped a Percocet for my tooth pain.  Wide awake now.  WTF.

Been there, done that have the t-shirt. 
I had some positive results with anti-histamines (Diphenhydramine). 
Benzodiazepines also work quite well for me.

I’m thinking about a medium rare tenderloin with Béarnaise sauce.  And a full bodied red.  And a baked potato with everything on it.

Would work perfectly well for me  ;D 
Especially if you down that bottle of red.  Not to mention the relaxing effects of cooking in the middle of the night.  I often cook at night.

I can’t think of Béarnaise Sauce without recalling one time making it I managed to cut the tip of my finger off while dicing the shallots.  I just kept going and finished the sauce with my left hand all wrapped up.  It was all wasted though, as I did have to go to the hospital where they put this weird finger bandage on me.  That finger still has a white rather numb spot where the regrowth of the tip occurred.  It’s amazing the healing powers of the human body.

Shoot, had I logged on I could have contributed at 3:00am.   I was up for about an hour but just flipped channels instead of grabbing my computer.  Didn't feel like getting out from the covers to get my computer charging in the other room

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 from 2:30 to 5.  Crawled back in bed.  Woke up at 7? Worst night I’ve had in ages.

Midnight walk through the barns.....
All the horses asleep, everything quiet.
When ever I can't sleep, I just take a quiet walk through the barns.
But ......"To Get To Sleep" at midnight anyway (works every time)......a nice hot bath with candle light.

I just took a three hour nap.  The longest I have slept this year.  I woke up, and thought it was Sunday morning.

I can assure you, as someone who feel asleep in the bath pretty much as often as I had baths, it's near impossible to drown in the bath, as long as you keep the crook of your neck on the edge.
