This song holds two memories to me.

One my mom for halloween tried to dress me like him, in black leather and such when I was little, and the second one it was the first song that played on the radio when we were driving to our honeymoon. It described our relationship right and proper.

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

I did a double-take when I read "But when I'm tired and lonely, yeah, she gives me head". So I fired up my music player (Roon) and checked the lyrics while listening to the song. I don't know from where Roon pulls the lyrics, but "she sees me to bed" isn't what I'm hearing. Another puzzle.

Roon tells me that "Rebel Yell" was written by Billy Idol and Steve Stevens. I didn't know that, and would probably have remainded blissfully ignorant if I hadn't read WB's post.

I'm finding via Google the line "She sleeps in bed", and listening to it on YouTube, that sounds right.

A lot of Billy Idols song lyrics had to be changed for the radio. Censors and all. Thats why radio edits exist. The album version is best. And especially if you did not buy it from walmart.

Oddly enough, it was not even about sex, the song was about the now Racer 75 brand of whiskey, which used to be rebel yell whiskey.

Better Days
By Eddie Vedder

I feel part of the universe open up to meet me
My emotion so submerged, broken down to kneel in
Once listening, the voices they came
Had to somehow greet myself, read myself
Heard vibrations within my cells, in my cells
Singing, "Ah-la-ah-ah, ah-la-ah-ah"

My love is safe for the universe
See me now, I'm bursting
On one planet, so many turns
Different worlds
Singing, "Ah-la-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah"

Fill my heart with discipline
Put there for the teaching
In my head see clouds of stairs
Help me as I'm reaching
The future's paved with better days

Not running from something
I'm running towards the day
Wide awake
A whisper once quiet
Now rising to a scream
Right in me

I'm falling, free falling
Words calling me
Up off my knees

I'm soaring and, darling,
You'll be the one that I can need
Still be free
Our future's paved with better days
