Sports Illustrated has the Bears 7-9 this year and some of the local sports reporters are having a fit.  NFC Central will be a tough division this year. 

One cannot go by a team's preseason record. Many teams are rarely using their starting squads.

The Bears have a bad quarterback and the NFL has a whole season of Matt Nagy's offense.  Last year they struggled to beat a lot of bad teams on a 4th place schedule, this year they play a 1st place schedule.

Chicago is third worst in the league in passing yards per game, with only 205.4 on average. To make matters even worse for the Bears, the Lions rank second in the league when it comes to passing touchdowns, having already thrown 19 this season.
