Rumor has it that Jones may want Urban Meyer for his new head coach, though Jones is known not to hire from the college ranks.

Yeah, that’s crazy talk...

True. Jimmy Johnson won 2 Super Bowls as head coach of the Cowboys while Switzer won 1 Super Bowl. Switzer lasted 4 years while Johnson lasted 5 years, an eternity working under Jerry Jones. The Super Bowl Switzer won was with a team that was made up of 70% of players Johnson had drafted.

Jones has only three Super Bowl wins, and they were all with former college coaches he brought up to the NFL.  So maybe he’ll try that again.  Couldn’t work any worse than the shit stand he’s running now.

And he’d have several more, if he had just STFU and let Johnson run the program.  But Jones was younger, and arrogant, and thought he could win more rings with any coach.  I think he appreciates now how difficult it is to win a championship, but he still oversteps his bounds with the whole owner/GM dichotomy. No coach worth his salt wants to work for him.

Sorry Jed & Joan...

The Eagles held off the Redskins, 37-27, in a back-and-forth affair at FedEx Field to remain alive in the NFC East race.

Should be a good game Sunday when the Eagles-Cowboys play for first place in their division.

And condolences to MJ and her Lions. They lost their seventh in a row....

Da Bears were eliminated with their loss against Green Bay.

Yeah, they were in it at least.  And, I’m sure you were cheering for my Redskins.

Lions lose their 8th game in a row but the coach will stay on....

The Bears bombed on prime time again.

And the Cowboys, with all that talent, couldn't beat the Eagles with half the Eagle team  on injured reserve.

Cowboys - Redskins this coming Sunday... Am hoping for a good game, nice to see Redskins playing a full 60 minute effort, as they have the past two games this season, and a smattering of other games I suppose. Lots of change coming for this team...

Where's MJ?  The Lions are up 14-0 over the Packers at half time. Could ruin their chances for getting next year's Number 1 draft pick.

Eagles and Giants are tied.  Cowboys are beating the Redskins.  An Eagle loss means the 8-8 Cowboys win the NFC East.

Toe, your Cowboys and our Bears, both picked to go to the Super Bowl this year, ended the season with wins for a sad 8-8 record. Neither team advanced.

At this point for me it’s KC or Baltimore.  I’m not sure what to do when (if) they play each other.  Will also be cheering for the Titans and Saints.

I am glad to see Minnesota advance. No easy feat knocking off the Saints. Great comeback victory by Houston and who would have guessed the mighty Patriots will be at home watching others play instead of being in the playoffs.

Hard to see any NFC team beating the Ravens or Kansas City though.

Minnesota teams, no matter what the sport, just don't do well in playoffs.

I was surprised to see the Vikings won and in overtime even. :emot_weird:

Now they'll get money for one more game.

We got out of the movie theatre yesterday and the game was on in the movie theater bar.   I watched the end of UM-MSU basketball and the Minnesota game.   I was so bummed when the other team scored in the final minutes.   But YAY, Vikings won in overtime.

I had a hard time taking sides watching the Vikings and Saints and ultimately was happy with the outcome.

The Redskins never should have let Cousins slip through their fingers.

Going to cheer for the Vikings to take the NFC.  The AFC is harder for me, I like most of the teams left.  Still, it will be Ravens and Chiefs for me until one is left.  I’m almost sure to be cheering for an AFC win in the Super Bowl, but we will see.

On another note, was pleased to see an old fart backup QB for the Eagles do his team justice despite their loss.  To be 40 and get your first chance to play in a playoff game after so many years (and teams) must have been a dream a long time coming.
