I grew up in the next city over from Arlington Heights, and that site is about four miles away from my parents' house.

I've heard rumors of the Bears moving to a new stadium replacing the Arlington Raceway since I was a little girl, and it's never happened.

The Tribune article make this time around seem a bit more serious.

I think it is probably the most serious the Bears have been when threatening to leave Chicago for Arlington Hts.  Can Chicago's mayor afford to spend millions of taxpayers dollars enticing the Bears to stay?  By purchasing the Arlington Park racetrack the Bears look like they will be moving. Some pundits have stated that the Bears will be in their new home before the end of the decade.  Fans will continue to jam into any stadium the Bears play in regardless of the quality of the teams they field.

I gave up my season tickets back when they did the licensing grift for the privilege of buying season tickets in the new Soldier Field. But we shall see what happens this time. One thing is for certain; nothing can gain bipartisan support quite like welfare for the rich.

I have to admit that I support no professional team. Using tax dollars to build stadiums for privately held teams plus overpaid athletes turned me pretty much off to professional teams.

My dad was saying something similar a while ago when somebody mentioned the packer wanting to move to Milwaukee. Not only is it the home team, but it is the only publicly owned team. Whenever they want to expand tou whatever, they sell stock to the fans to get the extra money to do so. I'm sure the city helps but the amount of tourist money the city makes during football season kind of balances out.

I dont know all the details or even if any of that is completely true, but that's what I've heard.

Bears winning must have meant our beloved MJ did not get laid last night... ;D ;D    Sure the Bears won handily. And they had a different play caller.  They played a team worst then them, though. Think they play the Raiders next.
