Fun game to watch. Detroit's first touchdown was set up by a fake punt, from inside their own 20. Pretty bold move.

Saw someone in the stands holding up a sign that said, "Jared Goff is undefeated against Patrick Mahomes." Gotta chuckle out of that.

In a post-game interview, Melissa Stark asked Jared Goff what this win meant to the team.

His answer, "It means we're one and oh, with another game to play next week."

Maybe the Lions can win all their games this year. That would make a certain member here very happy.

Why is it called football when 95% of the time the players' feet never touch the ball?

American football is directly derived from rugby, and it borrowed the term from rugby. According to Wikipedia, in the early days of American football, players did touch the ball to the ground when they scored.

Rogers knocked out early in his debut with an ankle injury.

UPDATE: Suspected torn Achilles for Rogers. MRI tomorrow.  He only played four snaps for the Jets.

My dad is pissed about that. He said rodgers isnt even on the packers anymore, and hes still finding ways to screw us over. If rodgers doesn't play a certain percentage of games or snaps or whatever, green bay loses a draft pick or something like that.

Tho' not a football fan I do like to see the home team do well. I guess there was some kinda questionable call last night but I didn't know that it made any difference to the outcome.  Looks like a lot of fumbles was a big factor.

I don't like how fans always like to blame the quarterback every time a game goes bad. There are a bunch of other people on the field too.

The Vikes have had other years with bad starts only to put things together and end up in the playoffs. Then the Minnesota curse goes into effect. No matter the sport, any Minnesota team that makes the playoffs seems to choke and gets eliminated soon.
