I see at least three of my stories have already been deleted, stories I'll never see again, stories I spent at least a week each on, maybe two weeks. That's a lot of effort just to have them vanish.
No stories have been completely deleted. We can get them back to you upon request.
If an author discovers their stories are no longer visible on the forum, PM me the title and I will move it to an area of the board where they can view it. They can revise it to bring it within the rules, or copy it for themselves.
As for your other comments. The decision has been made and we have given everyone the opportunity to copy (or revise) their stories before we removed them.
If you feel one was removed that shouldn't have been. Let me know the title & author and I'll look at it.

That would be me. Did I read every line of every story that I removed? No, I admit I did not. I did some keyword searches, and if they came up, I read a bit of the surrounding paragraph and made my decision as to whether I should remove it or not.

Yes, moderators do moderate other mods. We all police each other as well as general membership.
Again,
we are not deleting the stories. We are removing them from the public/member viewing. We will also keep them for
at least a year (maybe even longer) for those authors that haven't checked-in to KB for some time. The last thing we would like to have happen is delete them, only to find out the author didn't have a copy.
As for retaining a copy of your work if you don't have one. That is up to you. It's similar to photo sites that have closed up shop or have discontinued allowing pornographic images. It's your responsibility to keep a backup of your work.
GG, I offered to give you an iPad shortly after I joined KB. You turned down that offer. Honestly, you need to keep up with technology. See if you can have someone copy your material for you and have the stories PM'd to you. I would love to help you, but my plate is a little full right now.
