Most of the time my small dog will face me while lieing inbnb his bed. Occasionly, he becomes sullen and faces the wall. Should I be concerned?

It depends on the routine of these actions.  Would need to know more as well, such as bathroom uses, water consumption, appetite, age, and normal behavioral changes.  Used to play alot and suddenly stops.  Sleeping or resting changes could be a sign of unrest or anxiety. Has anything significant changed in your day to day life that may have thrown things off?  I've ran into a few people who changed work schedules and it completely messed with their furry family memebrs cycle.  Small changes that may seem mundane to you and me, but could have vast implications to your pet.

ADDED NOTE:  a change in diet and lethargy are your immediate signs of concern.  Sleeping patterns or styles are usually a psychological change to your pet, and not so much a physical change.

Dear Ask the Vet....

Our dog humps everything in sight. Can it be he is imitating his master?  ;D ;D

Not all humping has to do with mating.  A neutered male can hump, and even some female dogs will hump.  Some will do it as a dominance thing and others do it because it releases feel good endorphins in the brain.

Saw a video Friday on some sports talk show that shows funny videos, even non-sports ones like this.  Some guy got tangled in something and ended up hanging upside down.  A dog came over wrapped his paws around his waist and began humping his face.  The guy was not pleased, and had a difficult time get untangled while simultaneously pushing the dog away.

Just need our resident vet tangled that way, no dog needed.

For me, humping releases more then feel good endorphins.  8)

Our female cat has me wrapped around her little paw. Whenever I go to the kitchen, she'll follow and jump on the table. She yip and yowls at me until I give in and give her a treat.  When I try to be strong and resist her demands, she stares at me with her big green eyes, until I melt into a pool of gel and reach for the treats.

My question is:  Can I be retrained to not give in all the time or am I just her slave for life?

Well trained and been made compliant....by our two cats.

I’ll try and pay attention next time I’m in that bar, they got whatever it is on those days there’s no game of interest on.  I see it Fridays when I go there after work.  I usually alternate staring at that and checking out any girls in the place.

I took Nastya to the bank today.  The teller gave her two dog treats.
