On June 20th, 1980 the Blues Brothers movie was released to the theaters. I am guessing it was mainly a hit in the Chicago area since it was filmed in the area and many people went to see if their neighborhoods were shown.

For those who are too young, the movie was adapted from the SNL skit that starred Jim Belushi and Dan Ackroyd.  Some good old soul songs were part of the movie's soundtrack.

If you look at all the great movies turning 40 lately, makes me feel lucky to have been there.
