My Minnesota Twins are on the verge of winning their first division title in several years. All that's needed is one win by the Twins.(They're playing the L.A. Angels at home tonight)

One loss by Cleveland will also give the Twins the championship, but cinching it before a home crowd sounds ideal.

I had the pleasure of watching Kirby Puckett many times in the old Metrodome. My law firm was on Park Avenue, and it was a short walk to the ball park. Many a day spent playing hooky with a hotdog and a beer. Go Twins!

FYI... Kirby's former wife died this week. She got into charity work and raised a bunch of money, as in millions
of dollars. for various charities including Kirby's foundation.

A wonderful woman she succumbed to brain cancer.

You’re not from Minneapolis darling. Ron was President of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association and the National Association of Defense Counsel. He was lead counsel in the Congdon murder trial, known as the Glensheen murder. A famous family from Duluth. He got to the defendant acquitted.

Anyway, our office was on Park Avenue and I got to see a lot of the Minnesota Twins during those years.

Yes Ron was quite the attorney. Very higher respected...on the defense side.

Prosecutors, not so much.

TWINS ARE IN!!! They beat the Angels last night 8-6. They've had a heck of a season and are in the playoffs ... first time since 2020.

https://m.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-clinch-american-league-central-division-championship-target-field/600306912/

Here in Minnesota we agonize over the playoffs curse. Seems any Minnesota team baseball, football, hockey etc. that makes it to the playoffs gets knocked out easily in the first round. I'm pulling for the Twins to break the curse.

WIN TWINS, SCORE

Congrats Bob. I wish I still had my old Twins jersey and cap. But I didn’t have anybody to make a quilt for me, and I lost that in one of my many moves.

It did make me open my folder and look at my old house in Plymouth. It backed up to a wildlife refuge. Deer and pheasant would come up out of the woods onto the back lawn in the morning. So pleasant to have coffee surrounded by flora and fauna.

-40° (C and F are the same) the day I arrived. -40° the day I left. I remember having 60” snow drifts. And your state bird is the mosquito.

No ...no. State bird is still the Loon. State insect is the tick.

So, we are the state of loon-a-ticks.

Maybe my Minnesota Twins are on their way to breaking their playoff curse. Anyway they won't lose two straight and done. Won their first game this afternoon. Beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3 - 1.

My brother, who lives in Houston, is going to Minneapolis for game 3. I told him to go to Murray’s and have a butter knife steak for me.

Houston people are really obnoxious sport fans. Everyone says that Philly fans are the worst, but fucking people from Houston are just hideously obnoxious. They get in your face and act like total idiots. All of their sports franchises have been *mediocre* at best. The Astros have had a good run lately. But they have only won two titles in 61 years. They should show a little humility, IMHO.

Sadly "my team" based on proximity and number of visits (Marlins) fell at the first post-season hurdle  :(

Next in line for my invaluable support would probably be the Diamondbacks.

Princess, would you like to see it light up and hum when I wave it about
