I have zero interest in baseball. Losing my virginity in a dugout to a guy who played baseball, and then left me a month later, kinda put a damper on me ever liking the sport.

Point taken. Though sex in a dugout would greatly improve the game.... ;D ;D  Beats athletes scratching their balls and spitting out tobacco.

I was watching game 6 in the World Series, at one point a runner stepped on the extended ankle of the first baseman, who just carried on as normal.  Even if the baseman was wearing some shin guards how on earth did he not break it.  If it had been a football soccer game the player would have been screaming in agony (even if he wasn't hurt) and the runner sent off.

Edit:  On watching replays it was the pitcher who was covering at first base that got trodden on.  To his credit he carried on pitching after a short interruption.  A few games earlier a pitcher suffered a fractured leg when hit by a ball.

Refs need to yellow card these "actors" more.

Going to the Tigers game tonight.

HOPEFULLY, Miguel Cabrera gets his 3000th hit.

Rain, rain, stay away.

Friday's game was scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m., but was postponed because of rain about an hour before the first pitch.

He got #3000 today.  We were downtown at the farmers market district just half a mile from the stadium.  We were sitting in a restaurant bar area having a Bloody Mary lunch watching the television.  So cool, the room went crazy when he got the hit. We could see the fireworks going off out the window, over the stadium.

I had the #10, The 8 Mile Bloody Mary  & a #14, The Classic

The store next door sells the Vivio Bloody Mary Mix in liter size. I got two of those along with some pickle spears.
It was a good lunch.

Today's sport section of the paper had a nice sized heading claiming he posted his 3,000th hit.  Think your Tigers and the White Sox are tied for last.

The Detroit Free Press posted this on Facebook.  This saddens me that they would make fun of a team when they're in a slump.

The Detroit Tigers (8-20) have scored their first run in 28 innings. We’ll have more on this development soon.

Chicago baseball fans are used to that, especially Cub fans.

Both of my favorite teams (Reds and Red Sox - which is weird, because my favorite color is blue) are out of the running.

I'm good as long as we don't get a Yankees-Braves World Series. And if one of those two makes it, I'm automatically for the other team. Kind of hoping the Mets go, as I know quite a few long suffering Mets fans.

My support for baseball teams (and NFL) is based on places that I have visited in the USA, if I haven't been there my support goes to the underdog. The LA Dogers get a second vote because Todd Boehly is now co-owner of my football (sorry can't bring myself to type soc....) team.  Any reason for not giving them my support?

People support teams for any number of reasons, all of which are valid. You have every right to root for (or against) the Dodgers.

I don't know who Todd Boehly is so I can't give you any feedback about him.  ;D
