I wish this would have been around when I was younger.  I am older and the internet wasn’t even a thought.   I wrestled with my own demons when I was becoming sexually active.  Back in the day, no guy admitted to masturbating at all.  So you can imagine how unusual I felt when no one else was doing it, and I was almost constantly doing it. 

Also my first interactions were same sex.  Back then, especially in the rural area I grew up in, anything other than pure heterosexuality was ridiculed.  So I spent many years pretending that things didn’t happen.  Feeling super guilty that they did and that I liked them. 

It was years later that I realized I wasn’t alone in the world.  Glad you’re enjoying your time here.

Sometimes I feel like I’m all alone. First of all that stems from the fact I was orphaned when i was a teenager. I got married after college, we had 3 kids, all grown now and it feels like all passion left my relationship.  I’ve tried to be romantic in every way possible. She’s no longer interested in sex.
And thus I’m here just talking out loud. Maybe I’m too kinky or interested in something that she’s closed the door to.
So I guess I’m left to wonder, is it me?

I have been more of a lurker/reader.

I would say that normalcy is fully dependent on what your view of normal consists of. For me, normal is wildly different from my parents and mostly different from most of my friends. Only a few of them actually know my normal self.

Your statement above, I believe, indicates a very healthy outlook and I think you will be fine.
