Remember too. Most gas stations in Wisconsin have a liquor section.  How else can you stay happy in a state with so many cows. :emot_laughing:

That blows my mind.  It was proposed here, but given our alcohol problems, there was a collective shitting in their pants by society.

I never saw the reasoning in selling liquor and gas at the same location. Almost like condoning drunk driving.

It's why we call them convenience stores. Had a bad day, need to get gas... oh hey, booze, how convenient.

One stop shop on your way to anywhere. Ours has a walking cooler filled will cases or beer. When those guys we going fishing, I think they bought more alchohol than gasoline/petrol.

Kind of like the drive thru stores, not really a thing in Michigan.  But we were going through Ohio to Cedar Pointe (amusement park) when we were younger, about 10 miles from their my friend pulls in, we get a 12 pack and were opening the beers before the guy even gave us the change back.

Have you ever watched a sporting event on TV?

It seems like most of the ads are for beer and cars.

Same thing.

I can imagine the dram shop insurance costs at the stadiums that do sell beer.

Baseball,  if I recall,  is more like a barbecue party than a ball game :-)

I'm not betting anything. Just their two statements are enough to put me to sleep from sheer boredom.

Nah...that's football. The fans show up hours before the game and have tailgate parties in the parking lot. It's insane.

I'm pretty sure it's every American sport.

It is at every sport in Detroit. Pistons, Red Wings, Lions. Tigers.  The football they go to a different level though.  They start at 8am for a 1:00 game.
Our local high school they tailgate also at soccer games.

I've only ever watched New York Mets and San Francisco Giants - I think the Mets had tailgate barbecues but the Giants didn't have the space for that. I enjoyed the games at both.

So I'm sitting at the shop having coffee with Ben and talking, when these two guys comes in and one does this little double take when he sees me. I don't recognize him, and I'm not sure where he would know me from. I lose sight of him for a bit, and then when I see him going up to the counter, he looks back at me again. I tell Ben about this guy, and he being who he is, makes this big scene about turning to look st this guy, and then just stares waiting for him to turn around again.

So the guy buys his stuff and he turns and walks straight towards us, Ben kind of makes sure he's between me and this other guy, and then this guy says something that I did not expect. He asks me if I ever went to an "In this moment concert" when i said yes, he asked if i was the girl who "kicked some jackass in the nuts"

I laughed so hard, and then told him no, it was my friends, bit I was the one who hit him in the ribs with he cane. He apparently didnt see that, but he saw Kim kick the guy. He said it was the best part of the concert.

Had to tell Ben the whole story, said he wished he had seen it.
