My second round of chemo is now behind me. Yesterday was a milder session. I received just one cancer fighting drug as opposed to the cocktail of two drugs the week before. Apparently there wasn't much worry about nausea from yesterday's chemo. The week before I was given anti-nausea medication by IV prior to the two drugs being administered. Yesterday they just gave me a couple pills first.

I'm still feeling the effects of the first round. One of the side effects is lowing my red blood cell count. I've been pretty much in "zombie" mode for the past week, but starting to perk up a little bit. As my body adjusts to the chemo I'll start to handle it better and red blood cells will make a return.

Next week I have "off", no treatments. Then the following week, March 8th, the cycle starts over. Two drugs like my first time followed by just one drug the next week. Before each treatment I have blood drawn so they can check that my red blood count doesn't get too low.

My second round of chemo therapy got pushed back two weeks. I met with the doctor before going down to the chemo ward. I'd had an abscess lanced yesterday and that set off alarm bells with the doc. (Sorry Chirp isn't still here)

He said the risk of doing chemo after that procedure could cause severe infection. Like slammed in the hospital severe.
He said pushing the chemo back two weeks won't affect my treatment. So that's ok.

Also he told me the blood tests they've been doing show I'm responding good. More good news! Guess it's worth being tired all the time.

No progress on the cancer front. Went in yesterday to hopefully receive another treatment. My blood tests showed red blood cell count too low to take the chemo treatment.

I can go back again next week and see if levels have increased enough to receive treatment.

After several weeks delay I'm finally getting chemo again today. My red blood count still low, but doc thinks I can handle 75% of the dose I would have gotten. I'm sure I'll feel it, but been too much of a gap since my last chemo.
