I have never been a fan of republicans and as of late that is certainly more true than ever.... however... I have always pictured McConnell having that world's best "I'm cumming" face.

Republicans have turned politics into culture war. They don’t care about good government. They only care about power to promote their blatant sexist, racist, homophobic, anti-science, anti-ecology agenda. They can’t turn back the clock. They can’t stem the growing demographic tide. But they’ll be damned if they don’t burn everything down in the process.

...and some of these glue sniffers and window lickers actually believe that the culture war was started by the 'extreme left.' Some like Pat Buchanan even go so far as to say that the counter culture and civil rights movements were started by the Soviet Union.

So apparently, treating your fellow human beings like human beings, regardless of their race, gender, or anything else, is really just a dirty commie plot to destroy this country.

Well the Democrats have a good chance at beating the Republicans at getting out the vote.
I mean... how easy will it be for the GOP to get their people to the polls in horse and buggies.

The GOP is really the "I've Got Mine, So Fuck You Party", amongst other things.

One thing I've never been able to stand is lying in political ads.  Deceptive editing appears to show Katie Hobbs saying "yes" to the question "Do you want to defund the police?", etc.  There should be law against such slime tactics.

There's a sure fire way to tell if a politician is lying. Watch their lips.

If their lips are moving, they're lying.

If it isn't political ads on TV it's picking the best medicare plan. Wish someone would try to sell me a car.

More and more each year, outside money is pouring into our state trying to influence the election one way or the other. The majority of people have already made up their minds. Each election cycle there's all this money being spent to try and influence the last few voters. The big winners are the TV stations.

Spend more time scaring people about a candidate than about what their own plan is. It's borderline lowkey terrorism. Using fear to influence personal choice.

That's pretty much what happened in the 1912 U.S. presidential election.

Teddy Roosevelt declined to run for a third term in 1908, and William Taft was elected president. Roosevelt soon grew disenchanted with Taft, and four years later, he sought the GOP nomination. He was denied in favor of Taft, so Roosevelt decided to run as an independent, under the Progressive Party banner.

Roosevelt's entry into the race achieved only one thing: He successfully split the GOP vote, and handed the White House to the Democrats. Had he not run, Taft would have easily won re-election.

Taft, who's one of my favorite presidents, came in third in the election. But Taft got the last laugh -- literally.

Here's Taft, standing outside the U.S. Capitol Building with president-elect Woodrow Wilson, on March 4, 1913. At this point, Taft had only a few minutes left in his term, and his relief at leaving office is obvious:

Taft never wanted to be president, and he only agreed to run in 1908 at the strong urging of Roosevelt and his wife, Helen. Taft's dream was to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court justice, a position he was denied. Wilson served two terms, from 1913-1921, and he was succeeded by Republican Warren Harding. Shortly after Harding took office, Supreme Court Chief Justice Edward White died May 1921. Harding nominated Taft as the new Chief Justice, and the Senate approved the nomination by a vote of 60-4. Taft took his seat on June 30, 1921, and served for close to a decade, before bad health forced him to resign his seat.

And there's no truth whatsoever to the rumor that Taft got stuck in a White House bathtub.

Taft weighed 330 pounds when he was President. Not a small man.
