I always feel a general malaise in April. Football (American) is over. March Madness is over. Baseball is hardly getting started. Basketball is still a month away from the playoffs. I know there is something we Americans call soccer, but I really don’t know anything about it. So the sports weekends are all around boring, and I don’t have anything in particular that I care to watch.

I don't remember where you live in Texas, but there are MLS teams in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Get tickets to a game -- you can get good seats in most stadiums for around $30 -- and just go and watch it. Don't try to understand everything's that's going on, don't try to compare it with other sports, just watch the game and watch it flow. You'll thank me -- and the worst thing that will happen is that you'll spend a couple of hours drinking beer with your friends or kids.

I’m with B on this. We have a semi pro team that has been around now for 12 years. We’ve been following them the whole time. Games are fun and cheap. I thing game day tickets are only $15.

Austin FC is an American professional soccer club based in Austin, Texas. The club competes in Major League Soccer as a member of the Western Conference. Founded in 2018, the club began play in the 2021 season. Their home stadium is Q2 Stadium in north Austin (not far from my apartment).

You should go watch a game. My wife loves going. She doesn%u2019t know anything about soccer. Just loves the atmosphere of the crowd. We have the super fan side. Six drummers, smoke bombs when we score, a bunch of sing alongs, a few mega phones to yell at the ref and the other team.  It%u2019s such a fun time.  And let%u2019s not forget the drinking. Sponsored by a local beer company and a distillery
